The walk home was silent. Sans didn't dare interrupt his boss's thoughts, and Papyrus seemed deep in them. He could understand why. First he learned of Sans job, then their past, then the resets right after... it was alot to take in. "SO ALL THIS TIME... AND YOU WERE THE STRONGEST OF US ALL. WHY DIDN'T YOU EVER FIGHT BACK?" Papyrus asked suddenly as they walked through Waterfall. "holdin on to an unpopular opinion. excludin th' bitch in th' lab, i don't wanna kill. an' i'm not gonna be killed. it was you who set me on this path actually." Papyrus looked at his brother. "ME?" Sans nodded. "when ya were a lil tyke, ya wanted to fight against th' kill or be killed motto. 'lot's happened since then, but i hold firm that someday it'll be possible." Papyrus chuckled at Sans. "STILL SOFT AS EVER." Sans shrugged. Papyrus didn't sound pissed so.. "ya know me, just a lazy bones." And Papyrus scoffed. "DON'T YOU DARE START!" Sans held up his hands in defeat, chuckling. It was the first time in a long time they'd had a decent conversation.

Sans passed out in his bed when they got home. Papyrus allowed it, only because he felt exhausted himself after today. He had one more thing to do before he rested himself. He waited for Alphys or Undyne to pick up the phone. "Figured you'd call, Pap. Whatdya want?" Undyne answered. "WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE CHILD?" Papyrus asked, glancing up towards Sans room. "They're currently locked in a closet. As much as I wanna shove my spear right up their ass, if killing them makes them reset or whatever, I can't." Papyrus frowned. "I AM SURE MY BROTHER WILL BE FINE WITH THAT COMPROMISE." He agreed. "... that's a first." Papyrus gave the phone a confused look. "MEANING?"
"You openly admitted that you and Sans were brothers without ANY sort of insult." Undyne pointed out. "HM. SO I HAVE.." Undyne sighed. "I don't know what to think of that guy anymore. Like what the hell, if he's always had that much power, why not display it?"
"... I'VE ALWAYS HELD SOME SORT OF INFLUENCE OVER SANS. THAT'S NEVER CHANGED." Papyrus replied. "SANS IS SAVING THAT POWER TO PROTECT THE ONE HE CARES ABOUT MOST. IT IS... RESPECTABLE."
"Damn right it is." Undyne agreed.

So yeah, out of plot. That's ok though, this was never supposed to be long anyway. Probably could have just made it into a decently long one shot honestly. Anyway, have a good morning/afternoon/night!
