*Marcus's POV*

When I walked into Gandalf's private tower that is on the west side, The room was very quiet and dark. Potions, books, and paper were on the table for future experiments. Books were stacked on the shelves neatly. Gandalf called me after fighting practice with the other knights. There was some shuffling on the left side of the room. The room was black but Gandalf came out of the dark and placed stacks of spell books on the messy table. His long braided hair was swinging back and forth. His black and red cloak looked like a cape riding against the wind when he walked past me.

"Sorry for interrupting but why did you call me in?" I bowed to pay my respects.

"Ah yes, I called you here because I and King Roy decided that you will be on a mission."

"What kind of mission sir?" This was not new to me. There were many missions that I had to do but to Gandalf's voice, this sounds like a really big mission. The missions are also in groups, just in case one of us is injured. Maybe this is the last mission for me to be a fully trained knight.

"A mission that will deal with the Blindhaven kingdom." Indeed this is something big.

"What about them? Why did you pick me for this.... Mission?"

"They might be planning something that we might not be able to defeat and we picked you because you are the best knight we got." I was shocked. I was the best knight they have... People don't understand why being the best knight is important. The best knight can attend anything that deals with the king's decisions and could decide on what to do sometimes.

"What about Kayden? Did he die?" Kayden is the formal best knight but apparently, something happened.

"No, nothing happened to him. He is just sick and will retire soon." This sometimes happens often. When the formal knight gets sick they are forced to be retired, This is for the safety of our kingdom.

"Do you have your armor? I will need it for enchantments."

"I don't have it with me right now but do you need me to go get it from my dorm?" Gandalf waved his hand for me to go get my armor. I bowed again then was on my way to my dorm. I went down the stairs, halls, and then to my dorm hall but there were a few people in the castle. Maybe it's because they're all outside enjoying the sun. Room 10. All the dorms are on the right side and windows are on the left getting the view of the almost dead trees and flowers. None of the gardens would feed them. This makes our kingdom gloomy and scary but it makes us not be threatened. The closet where I keep my armor is right behind the door on the left. I unlocked my dorm door with a fierce push. The door opened and hit the back of the wall with a loud bang. I opened the closet door. The armor stand was holding my black armor. I carefully pulled my armor off the armor stand and folded the metal gently not to break it. The helmet was gracefully placed on top. The door shut behind me, I walked back to Gandalf's tower. The door creaked once I opened it.

"Good your back! Place your armor on the table. I have cleared it so there is plenty of room to work." I settled my armor on the table while Gandalf was flipping through spells. "You might want to take a step back."

"What will this spell do to my armor?" I took two big steps backward.

"Und Vard aí cursed, no longer sverd blunda blödhren Vard laesa aí beaten." Gandalf has begun his ritual. His hands were making circles over the armor, His eyes closed. Focusing. My armor was beginning to turn red and a long sword began to appear on the side. Gandalf opened his eyes to see his creation. "There will be some problems while wearing this suit. You will not be able to speak when you wear your helmet. Second, when you ack that means you need to take the suit off as fast as you can, if you don't there will be serious consequences." Gandalf handed me the armor.

"Why is it red?"

"The spell contains dark magic." Dark magic? Dark magic is only for professional wizards with rubies on their foreheads. Fortunately, Gandalf does have a ruby. "Here is your new sword." Gandalf passed the red sword towards me. I hesitated for a moment.

"My last question. Why did it come with a sword?"

"That is one question that I can not answer." Yes, I forgot not all professional wizards don't know all the magic. Very rare. I took the sword from him. "We need to meet up with King Roy in his throne room." We both walked out the door, Gandalf turned around waving his arms then this blue lock formed around the door. We soon arrived at king Roy's throne room. In it, there was a red carpet leading towards Roy's chair. On the sides, there were some tables with windows above them with dead plants hanging over them. The gardens should feed them soon. Gandalf's arm crossed over my chest. The plants started to grow rapidly. Was he reading my mind?

"King Roy." Gandalf bowed down, He nudged me to do the same.

"No need to bow down." Roy sat up folding his arms. I and Gandalf stopped bowing and stood up straight. My armor was getting heavier each time I squirmed holding up my armor.

"I brought Marcus just like you asked."

"Thank you, Gandalf but I can take it from here, you can leave." Gandalf did as he was told and left. "Did Gandalf tell you about your mission?"

"All he said was I had a mission that I had to do on my own that deals with our rivals."

"What about the rules about what we expect you to do," Roy asked.

"Yes but didn't say when I should be back." Roy rubbed his chin with his fingers then replied.

"You will be back in a year if your one day late I'd send most of our knights to ambush their kingdom. Kayden will still be our Best Knight even though he is sick." Roy seemed upset or worried. "I'll let you pack up then meet me back here. Your dismissed." I bowed again, turned around, and headed towards my dorm again. I opened my door slightly this time for it not to cause lots of commotion. I went to my other closet with my clothes in it. I grabbed 6 of everything Shirts, Pants, underwear, and socks. I also grabbed one pair of boots and one pair of slippers. Pretty much all I need is my armor. The closest thing I could wrap my things around was my white sheets from my bed. I wrapped all my things into the sheet. It looks like I'm running away for good, But I would never do that, I'm loyal to my king and kingdom. I swung the sheet over my shoulder and walked out. I arrived back at the throne room. King Roy was talking to some archers, One female one male. Roy saw me coming in and sent them away.

"Are you all set?"

"Yes sir." I bowed still holding my armor.

"I'll get some guards to escort you out and you'll be on your way. But I've decided that you will write letters to me when you get there."

"What if Blindhaven sees the letter or if there is no delivery person."

"You are saying that I'm wrong Sir Marcus?"

"Wait no sorry. I was worried about it." I shock in fear but then he signed.

"Nobody takes my jokes hilarious." Roy rested his arm on my shoulder. "But you should get a move on."

"I'll escort myself out. Oh and thank you for choosing me for this mission!" He stood in the middle of the room watching me leave the room. The last thing before walking around the corner was to nod and wave goodbye.

As soon I was in front of the castle I had second thoughts. It's better to protect the kingdom when I'm here. What will King Roy do without me? I'll better help in the castle. Well, it's too late to back down and King Roy trusts me to do this on my own. I started to set off to Blindhaven.

"I'm coming."
