Zenitsu X Reader [SCHOOL AU]

Valentines Special *NOT A PART OF THE STORY*

Hello my lovely readers! Again, I'm sorry for not posting a new story. I don't have time because of school, I hope this spring break I'll be able to write more.

This is a valentines special, still in the school AU.
This has absolutely nothing to do with the actual story and the next chapter will continue where chapter 3 left off. With that please enjoy!

You, Aoi, and Kanao were all at the store, discussing this monday, Valentines Day.

"So Y/N, do you plan on getting Zenitsu something? I bet he'll be so grateful!" Aoi said with a grin growing on her face. You playfully rolled your eyes at her words. "I'm gonna get everyone something so don't think of it as anything other than completely platonic." You stated. Aoi pouted jokingly.

The three of you walked around the store, seeing all the heart chocolates and silly decorations. Kanao pulled Aoi towards some chocolates that she thought would be good for the Valentines Day party they were hosting, leaving you all by yourself. You found some cheap chocolates that you could buy for Tanjiro and Inosuke, but something in your gut told you to get something else for Zenitsu.

You found a small teddy bear that was holding a box of chocolates and decided to get that for Zenitsu. You also decided a little chocolate for yourself wouldn't hurt. After your self-indulgent purchase, you met up with Aoi and Kanao.

"I'm done shopping so we can go whenever your ready." You spoke, getting their attention. Kanao nodded and started leading the way to the store doors, that's when the three of you ran into the iconic trio of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke. You quickly hid your bags behind your back, not wanting to tell the three of them that you bought stuff for them. Aoi invited the three of them to the party that she was hosting...at your house. The three agreed to go and you parted ways.

*Cute little time skip to later that afternoon*

You guys were getting ready for the party, specifically talking about what to wear. Aoi insisted that you at least try to look nice. You laughed a little, saying something about how you're certain nobody would care.

"Kanao, would you please hand me the red ribbon, I want to hang some spirals from the ceiling." You said. Kanao gave you the ribbon and you started cutting strips of red ribbon. You took one edge of the scissors and glided it across the ribbon, making a spiral. You then proceeded to hang the ribbon from the ceiling.

"I think it looks pretty good!" Aoi said in accomplishment of your hard work. Kanao smiled and nodded in agreement. You also smiled and stared in awe of your work. Aoi suddenly started dragging you to your room. You yelped in surprise of the sheer force of the tug.

"You need to look nice and presentable, I mean Zenitsu is gonna be here, along with a mix your homeroom class and mine and Kanao's." Aoi stated in a know-it-all tone. She gave you some nice, casual yet formal clothes (your choice) to wear. You sighed and complied with your friend.

*Another cute little time skip to around 5:15 pm*

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke had arrived at your house, wanting to get to the party before anyone else. This was mainly Zenitsu's idea.
You, Aoi, and Kanao were all dressed and ready to start the party. When you opened the door to let the trio in, Zenitsu automatically gave you an excited hug. You blushed slightly and hesitantly hugged him back, slightly nervous to be even touching him. The embrace was warm, unlike any other hug you have ever given or received. Though just as quick as it started, it ended. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.

More people have shown up now, it was 5:30 and the party had started, with music faintly playing in the back as people talked. You had left to your room after a while, trying to recharge your social battery, and also mentally preparing yourself to give Zenitsu his gift. You heard a faint knock on the door.

"Y/N, It's Zenitsu, can I come in?"

Hearing his voice, you panicked and hid the bear and chocolates under your bed sheets. "Y-yeah, sure come in!" you responded with a nervous stutter.
Zenitsu had opened the door with a slightly worried look. He swore he heard your heartbeat increase.
"You okay? I've been looking for you for the past 5 minutes." He said with such a concerned tone. You smiled slightly, heart warming, knowing that he was looking for you, making you happy.  "Yep, I'm fine, just a little tired. Why were you looking for me?" you asked, sitting up a little as Zenitsu sat down next to you.

*Cue heartwarming cringe*

"Well, I wanted to give you these chocolates as a valentine gift." He said holding out a box of heart chocolates. There was a slight pink hue to his cheeks, increasing in a red color the more you looked at him with that astonished look.
"Zenitsu, thank you! I really appreciated it." You said taking the chocolates ever so delicately from his hands. You reached behind you and grabbed the teddy bear holding the chocolates.
"I was going to give this to you later, but I think now is a good time." You said, holding the bear in your hands.

Zenitsu's face flushed red. He was unable to process that you had gotten him a gift. His shaking hands took the teddy from your hand. "Y/N, thank you. Thanks so much! I love it! There is, well, one more thing that I have to tell you." Zenitsu confessed.

"Y/N, my heart always skips a beat when we catch each others gaze. The butterflies in my stomach go crazy when you talk to me. I cant help but take a second to take in your beauty. Y/N I like you, no thats an understatement. I love you. I love you so much that I can't hide it anymore."

You felt your face burning up at the confession. His hands were now on your shoulders as he awaited an expected rejection. Though that rejection never came.
"I...also have..strong feelings for you."

Zenitsu's POV:

WOOOOOHOOOO LETS GOOO SHE SAID SHE LIKES ME BACK WOO I CANT HOLD BACK MY EXCITEMENT I TOTALLY EXPECTED A HALF HEARTED REJECTION BUT THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER YEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH YAY!

I calmed down, almost barley though. I looked at her as I knew my cheeks were burning red.

Normal P.O.V

Zenitsu had a visual brain malfunction at your words. He smiled at you and leaned in slightly closer.

"Y/N, can I kiss you?" he asked, his voice quiet, as to not bring attention to the two of you. You looked into his honeycomb color eyes, filled with passion. You nodded your head slightly and closed your eyes, waiting for contact.
Zenitsu leaned in closer, also scooting closer. He moved his hands to your waist, bringing you in for a small hug. Your hands moved as your arms went over his shoulders. Zenitsu leaned his face closer to yours, the situation finally weighing on his thoughts.

At last, your lips connected, in a way you never thought they would. To others, the kiss might have been a horrible mess, but to you two, it felt like heaven. Zenitsu's lips were soft and warm. The kiss was filled with beautiful emotion, and seemed to go on forever.
The two of you separated, faces completely red. Zenitsu looked at you with such passion. You leaned in for another kiss, hands now on his cheeks to bring him closer. His touch, his feeling was addictive. You wanted to stay like this forever.

Suddenly, you saw the slight flash of a camera. You instinctively pushed Zenitsu away from you and off of your bed. His whines and complaints landed upon deaf ears as you turned your head to see Aoi, a frightful look on her face as she realized her cause of death was staring her in the eyes.

"AOI YOU BETTER DELETE THAT PICTURE RIGHT NOW!" You yelled, getting up to tackle her.

"IM SORRRYYYYYYY!!!!!"
