He heard a cat padding into the den as he was drifting off.

"Blizzardsnow? is that you?" Mudleaf asked.

"Of course it's me!" Blizzardsnow purred.

Mudleaf got up to stare at the beautiful white tom, the tom had fiery amber eyes that reminded Mudleaf of warmth.

"What do you need dear?" Mudleaf mewed as he padded towards Blizzardsnow.

"I just wanted to ask if I could maybe...uh..." Blizzardsnow stuttered.

What does he want to tell me?

"Um..I- well- I could tell you in my den" Blizzardsnow meowed.

"Okay..." Mudleaf said.

They padded towards another hollow in the mountain, this one was smaller though and it only had one moss bed.

"Mudleaf, we've been friends for a long time now and I was wondering...." Blizzardsnow started.

"Would you be my mate?"

Mudleaf stared into Blizzardsnow's amber eyes.

"Blizzardsnow..."

"I will...I will be your mate, even if overseers can't have mates" Mudleaf answered.

"But I'm scared of getting exiled, what if we get separated?..." Mudleaf said anxiously.

"We're going to be okay if we keep it a secret..." Blizzardsnow whispered.
