Chapter 5

Today is Briana's wedding day probably the worst day of her entire life. I held her in my arms last night and watched her sob her heart out. The guards wake us up with a sharp command to get dressed in our assigned dresses laying on our vanity tables beside our beds. I quickly get up and pull the silver dress over my head. Briana approaches her vanity table on shaky legs and pulls the white fabric off the table, she screams and drops to her knees and I quickly rush to help her followed by Eloise.

"Briana....I can't tell you that everything's going to okay because I don't know that but what I do know is that you're a beautiful young girl and Talon is a lucky guy. Lucky because he has you and I know that you can make him love you in fact I think the lust will turn to love"

"I don't want do this! I don't want to marry him! I don't want to have his children!"

"You have to put on the dress now...Mrs Baker will punish you if you don't and she'll have the guards help....I am asking you please let us help you....you're not in this alone Briana"

I take her hand and pull her to her feet and she wraps her arms around me and I feel her nod her head against my shoulders.

Eloise helps me get Briana changed into her wedding dress and together we do her hair and makeup and make her into a stunning bride.

Mrs Baker comes in through the door and all the girls scramble and stand up at their vanities. Mrs Baker turns her attention towards Briana who is trembling in fear.

"Ah good Briana darling you're dressing to impress your new husband and I thought you might want to know after the tests came back from the doctors. I am very happy to announce that you Briana darling could already be pregnant"

Briana screams and I scramble to her side just as she hits the floor. Mrs Baker sighs looking at her without any emotion.

"Briana darling this is good news and I will take that you have nearly fainted out happiness. I have already told Talon and him and his family are ecstatic....with that being said let the wedding begin!"

I tried to convince Mrs Baker to let me walk Briana down the aisle but she wouldn't have it.

I look down the aisle at the man who will become Briana's husband. Talon is a big man it's no wonder Briana couldn't fight against him, he looks like he's made of stone. He has flaming red hair and the deepest blue eyes I have ever seen.

The wedding march begins and Briana comes in through the double she takes a step out but freezes when her eyes meet Talon's. Briana tries to run to the double doors but two guards stop her, they each grab an arm and literally drag her down the aisle to Talon. She reaches the alter and Talon roughly grabs her hand in his obviously not happy that she tried to run. He bends down and whispers something in his ear, Mrs Baker makes her way over to me along with her husband and sits beside me so I don't hear what he said to her but Briana visibly shudders.

"How was your Dragon last night Anastasia darling?" Mrs Baker asks me just as the minister starts speaking

"I don't understand what you mean head mistress"

"Your night with the dragon?"

"It went well" I say and quickly turn my attention towards Briana, Talon is in the middle of saying his vows.

"Oh come Anastasia darling don't play coy with me.....I know what you did with the fire"

"I don't know what happened"

"It doesn't matter just don't do it again"

I nod my head quickly trying to get back to the wedding.

"I think now is just as perfect as any time....give me your arm Anastasia darling"

I look at her then hesitantly allow her to take my arm in her grasp.

"Be a good girl darling we don't want any screaming to interrupt the wedding...there are lots of dragons here and the last thing I need is all my girls being forcibly mated"

Mrs Baker turns to her husband who hands her what looks like two large injections.

"What are you doing head mistress?"

"Simply taking a little blood from you Anastasia darling"

Before I can reply she stabs the needle into my flesh and starts taking my blood. I count in my head and by the time I reach 40 the injection is out and blood is pouring out of my arm.

"Good girl...just one more"

She stabs another needle into the puncture that the other needle pierced and there is no escaping the scream that comes out of my mouth. As quick as a flash Mr Baker is over at my and his hands cover my mouth.

I scream into his hands as a hot searing pain rips through my whole body.

"There that should be enough to you" Mrs Baker says taking out the needle. Mr Baker keeps his hand over my mouth but starts licking the wound on my arm.

The pain finally stops and I feel like I weigh a ton of bricks. Mr Baker removes his hand and stops licking at my now completely healed wound.

"What did you do to me?"

"I simply gave you something to weaken you...you can't use it if your weak Anastasia darling"

"Use what?"

"All in good time my darling"

I hear her say and then slip into the darkness.
