Harry's POV
How was I going to go about this?
I had talked things over with the guys last night (well they did all the talking) and I knew they were right when they told me I was merely infatuated with Caroline. I guess a part of me was always drawn to her from the moment her flirty eyes made contact with mine, but maybe I was seeing something that's wasn't there. Then again there was that kiss we shared which was magical. But when we went out to the club the other night, I didn't get to show her the other side of me; that was all she ever wanted. "Get over it" I hear Niall say in my head. Nobody knew me better than my best friends and even I was beginning to realize that Caroline meant nothing to me and I wasn't going to ruin the beautiful thing she had with her fiancé. That's not who I am.
Sitting in the hotel's restaurant I hear footsteps coming my way, as I look up I find a sight of the raven haired girl and taller darker skinned guy; she came accompanied.
"Hey" I smile innocently at her "thanks for coming"
"Sure, Harry" she tries not to smile
"I see you came with someone... don't want to be alone with me?" I grin.
"Something like that" she smirks "This is Michael"
"Michael, nice to meet you!" I shake his hand and he simply nods looking over at Caroline "now I promise I'm up to good things, mind leaving us alone?"
There was silence and without saying a work the friends shared a gaze and she nodded before glaring at me.
"I trust that you're telling the truth" she says "I'll be out on five minute Mikey"
"I'll be right here if you need me"
Soon after he exits I take a deep breath and go around pushing out Caroline's chair.
"I've got it" she says shooing me away
We both sit and as I open my mouth to say something our waitress appears.
"Hi!" she squeaks "I'm Casey, can I get you started with something?"
"Just water" I say
"Same"
The girl dismisses herself, here I go again.
"I'm sorry" I begin "I knew from the beginning you were spoken for yet I went ahead and tried to make you see me as something more than a friend. I know now that I ruined what we had and mainly because I felt alone; everybody had somebody but me."
I had been avoiding her gaze the whole time but once I felt her hand on mine on top of the table and met her warm eyes, I felt my shoulders relax.
"Harry all I wanted to hear you say was that you were sorry" she laughed "you, the guys mean a lot to me, I'm not only a big fan of your music but also of whom you all are. Like you said I consider myself your friends as well."
"So we're okay?" I ask
"We have always been okay. Just don't go seeing things with a taken girl again" she smiles
Our water arrives and we take sips from it.
"Tell your friend to come join us" I tell her
She looks surprised but stands and go's to get him. After a stressful morning it was nice to be having lunch and making conversation with new/old friends. Maybe now I'd even score and invite to this wedding.
