Genesis's POV
December
Time was passing by way to fast.
Last week Carolina finally picked out her wedding dress, a very simple Rosa Clara wedding gown that was all covered except for an exposed back; very her. The location of the wedding was still in the works considering the large families on both sides, and as boring as it was for me to watch all the wedding preparations, I couldn't help being happy for my sister.
All of us got a lot done while in New Jersey for Thanksgiving and the biggest problem right now would be finding the newlyweds a new home to live in. Joe has been trying to convince Nick to buy a home in California but no dice; him and Carolina are okay with just having the loft in New York. Maybe when we celebrate Christmas together someone will convince them to buy a home big enough for a family.
Speaking of celebrations; today is Zach's birthday! The whole gang was getting together today at the guys place for once (I know I'm surprised too). As I dragged Joe to the party, with me I knew this was the last place he wanted to be at.
"Can you at least smile?" I asked him at the door "Nicks going to be here so you can talk to him"
"One hour" is all he answers
"That's it?"
Joe nods. I don't know why he was being like this, I know he wasn't fond of Zach but he could at least be nice to him on his birthday.
I roll my eyes and knock on the door, seeing Valerie open the door with a huge smile on her face.
"Hi Valerie" I hear Joe say from behind me
"Hey Joe, Genesis! Thanks for coming."
We both walk in hand in hand, and get a feel of the party which was laid back. I look around for a while until I finally see Zach talking to my sister and Nick.
"Be nice" I whisper to Joe as we walk over to him.
"Always am" he mumbles
Reaching them I let go out Joe's hand and say hi to everyone leaving the birthday boy last as I hug him a little bit longer.
"Happy Birthday Zachary"
"Thanks" he says so modest
"This is for you" I say handing him a bag
"From the both of us" Joe adds
Oops, forgot to mention that; he did buy the gift after all. Zach doesn't say a thing but has the happiest face when he sees our gift is an autographed copy of "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen.
"How did you get this?" he asked
"Pulled some strings" Joe says with a smirk
"This is amazing, thank you"
He proceeds to showing everyone or gift and I was to glad he loved it.
"What did you and Nick get him?" I asked my sister
"Well... it was nothing" she smiled
"Oh whatever!" Zach said pointing at her
"It was nothing" Nick repeated
"These guys got us a day to record at the SONY BMG studios in LA" Zach said
My jaw dropped, what the hell.
"Matt let you borrow a studio?" Joe asked Nick
"Yeah he said they had open studio time this week and I thought it would be good for the guys to record a bit there for their next EP or cd"
