Princess Zelda was in her room updating her diary, and writing about Link when there was a knock on her door. She put away the diary, then answered.

"Come in!"

"Good morning, Your Highness," said a Hyrule Castle guard. "His Majesty would like a word with you in the throne room."

"Thank you, I will go at once," said Zelda.

She made her way at once to the throne room where her father was working.

"Yes, Father? You wanted to see me?"

"Yes, dear, a couple of things," said King Rhoam. "First of all, have you made any progress discovering how to unlock your sealing power?"

"I'm sorry, no," said Zelda, lowering her head. "But I am still hopeful my prayers will be answered. I pray every day, Father."

"I see," said King Rhoam. "It's a pity your mother passed before she could teach you."

King Rhoam shook his head and was quiet, lost in thought for a moment as he recalled his dear wife.

"Um, Father, you said there were two things you wished to talk to me about?"

"Oh, yes, it's about your appointed knight, Link," said King Rhoam. "I need him to train a group of soldiers at the Akkala Citadel. Could you do without his services for a short time?"

"Can nobody else perform this task for you? I've grown more attached to Link's company."

"I'm sorry, dear, but no," said King Rhoam. "I want the soldiers there to learn from the best."

"Very well, Father," sighed Zelda. "I suppose I can remain home until he returns. Perhaps I could invite my friend Princess Mipha to visit?"

"Yes, that's an excellent idea," said King Rhoam. "I will let Link know. And feel free to invite your friend Mipha. Perhaps you can even learn something from her."

Zelda returned to her room and wrote to Mipha, inviting her to visit. And Link departed for the Akkala Citadel per the King's command.

When Mipha received Zelda's letter, she opened the envelope and read it at once.

Dear Mipha,

I hope you and your family are well. I will be staying home for a while, and I miss the fun of seeing you. I am especially lonely now since my father sent Link away on a mission. So, I am hoping you can visit me and we can have fun together. You are welcome here any time it is convenient for you, so there is no need to respond - just please come!

Your friend,

Zelda

After reading the letter, Mipha went to speak to her father who was with her little brother Sidon in the throne room. After kissing Sidon hello, Mipha spoke up.

"Princess Zelda has invited me to visit her at Hyrule Castle, Father," said Mipha. "Do I have your permission to go? It seems we have beaten back enemy all the attacks, and the domain is safe for now."

"Yes, we are definitely safe for now," said King Dorephan. "If you wish to go, dear, I have no objection. Will your friend Link be there as well?"

"No, Father," said Mipha. "Zelda wrote that Link is away on a mission for King Rhoam. But it is odd she writes that Link being away makes her feel lonely. The last I knew, Zelda resented Link being with her. Anyway, with your permission, I will leave at once, Father. And I won't be gone long, Sidon, so please don't pout."
