Chapter 4

Rand stood in complete silence. "Okay first, don't do that again. Second," complained Rand, "we have to hurry." Math was next for Eliza. She usually helps Rebecca with her backpack. When they were walking, Rand spotted Blake. "Goku! Get over here with your girlfriend!" Rand teased. Blake blushed and walked to class.

"Nice going, child," Eliza said. She crossed her arms and walked to fourth period. That was really mean to say. I wouldn't ever say that to Rebecca. Someone from her class was holding the door for the class. Eliza walked in quietly and hopped to her desk. She put down her backpack and she noticed that when it hit the floor, purple scales pulsed from the mark. It soon faded away.

Mr. Burton got up from his seat. "Alright, class, here's what we're gonna do today. First we're going to learn about the new chapter, but only the first section as always. Then we're going to take out our handy whiteboards, and you should have them by this time. Today we won't be having any homework. The homework is due on Wednesday since it's such a big assignment. But if you get it done today, you can show it to me tomorrow, and maybe - I can't believe I'm saying this - I'll give you extra credit." He sat back down and took a sip of his lemonade. Everyone was staring at the lemonade, while Eliza got her books out.

"Well at least someone knows what to do in this class. Thank you Eliza for being a responsible student." Eliza smiled and folded her hands. The rest of the class groaned and took their books out. She felt pretty responsible for having an effect on the class. She twirled her pencil and held her head up high. Samuel looked over at her and scoffed.

"Don't be such a show off, Timekeeper," Samuel said angrily. Mr. Burton looked over at the kid and glared. "Fine, I'm sorry for saying that." He got his book open to the page of the new lesson. Eliza rolled her eyes and went to the page as well.

It was finally 10:40 and Eliza was then reading her favorite book. She read it two times already, but she loved this book. It was like she was in the book with the characters. A girl that's part robot. A man that's part monster. Caravan crash. Machinists. I just can't wait for lunch so that I can talk to Miranda, Blake, Rand, and Rebecca. Eliza decided to put her book away. The book slipped in perfectly and she then zipped her backpack up. RING! Finally the bell.

Miranda called Eliza over. "Hi! I'm so happy we don't have homework today! I'm probably going to do half of it tonight though," she peeped.

"Yeah, I'm just going to get it over with and show it to him tomorrow. Probably the best way to do it," Eliza replied. "Anyway, Rebecca might be waiting. I'm going to go see." They left the class together to see that Rebecca was standing right outside the door. When they got to Rebecca's locker, Rebecca got her backpack out quickly as Miranda got her lunch and put her backpack in. "Off to lunch!" Eliza piped.

The lunch tables were almost filled with hungry students with first lunch. They were surprised to see so many people just devouring their lunches. It was like Gigabeetles were taking over the world in a few minutes. But of course, it's not going to happen any time. Eliza selected a spot for them to sit at. Spotting Rand poking curiously at his sandwich, she laughed. Blake's eyes met hers and he smiled.

Blake turned back to his lunch, still smiling. Eliza smiled, and carried on.
