"Happy Valentine's Day...?"
Peso stood in the kitchen doorway, mouth wide open, the entire room smelling of smoke. "What did you do?" he asked.
"I made you something for Valentine's Day," Kwazii said, holding up a baking pan.
"What did you try and make?" Peso asked, laughing.
"A cake."Peso slowly made his way over towards Kwazii, still laughing. "Are you sure this was a cake? Looks like you burnt it to a crisp," he said.
"It was almost a cake," he replied.Peso reached into the pan, pulling out burnt cake crumbs and staring at them for a moment before sprinkling them back into the pan. "Almost a cake."
"I can't bake, I can't make... gifts," Kwazii said, dropping the pan onto the table.
"You can, Kwaz, you just... messed up... really bad..." he muttered."I seriously can't do this right," Kwazii muttered, turning away from the table.
"Hey, listen," Peso stopped him, hands holding his face, "it's definitely not perfect, but that doesn't matter."
"It was supposed to be a surprise!"
"How many times did I tell you that I didn't want material things for Valentine's Day?"...
"A lot. Maybe five times."
"And you still did this?"
"It was supposed to be a secret! If I could bake then it would've worked!" Kwazii exclaimed, throwing his hands into the air.Peso sighed. "All I want this Valentine's Day is for you to simply be happy. Is that too hard?"
"No, but if I hadn't burned that cake-"
"Ay, amor, let go of the cake. It's Valentine's Day. Just be happy."Words: 262 Words
