"The Parade" Coal woke with a start, realizing that a Talonflame and an Arcanine were sitting next to him. "It was just a dream of a memory." Coal thought sadly, "But at least it was a good one"

Coal suddenly remembered his trainers last words, after being bed ridden for 6 months, "I want you to go free," he had said, Coal had then finally told him his real name, which Jake had liked. "Go and be free coal, explore the world in my memory. I'll be...I'll be watching you from above.." after a shaky breath, Jack had finally died from his sickness at the age of 18. Coal had pressed the panic button that Jake had shown him, but the doctors couldn't bring him back. Coal had mourned for Jake for days, alongside Flame(Arcanine) and Feather(Talonflame), since these three were the closest to Jack.

Though it was a sad memory and a painful reminder, Coal was thankful for the dream. So far, it was the best of Coal's life out of the 15 years he had lived so far. Though he hadn't fought a battle since, coal pushed out the sad memories and woke up his friends.

"Flame, Wake up lazy bones! You too Worm-Wings." Coal pawed the Arcanine and Talonflame. "Its time to go, we slept in, its 10 o'clock already."

Flame suddenly jerked up "WHAT? The Annistar Parade starts at eleven!"

"That's why I stopped 30 minutes away in case we slept in. Come on, get up you two." Coal had got a brush from his satchel, and brushed his fur flat, while feather stretched his wings and Flame shook his pelt with a massive yawn.

"Well, lets get going" Feather said, as he took off flying 20 feet in the air. After a 20-minute walk, they made it to the Annistar Village.

"Just in time for brunch! I'm starving!" Flame said with a loud stomach growl.

"I can tell you are. Oooh, everything smells so good! I can even smell funnel cake." Coal exclaimed with his muzzle in the air.

Feather was then suddenly on coals back. I saw two places for fried things, three poképuff stands, and plenty of souvenir and candy plus snack shops" He stated.

Well, sounds good to me feather. Where to go first is the problem. What do you think FL- flame?" Coal looked around next to him, and flame was already gone.

"Hopefully, he doesn't blow a whole bunch on chocolate poképuffs again" Feather huffed. Coal nodded in agreement "that's why I'm in charge of budgeting. If flame was, we'd he broke buying needless food."

Coal had always known flame was an over spender anyway. Flame had blown as much as 48,000 poké on gourmet puffs and two layered cakes, chocolate of course.

"Anyways, what are your plans for brunch? Maybe some actual food?" Coal asked Feather. "I was thinking fried okra, hush puppies, and funnel cake for desert"

"A lot of breading, but it sounds like a good lunch."

They walked up to the stand, and ordered their food. Once they got it, they sat down. Suddenly, drums were sounding at a distance.

"Hey, sounds like their warming up." Feather nodded, intent on his hush puppy. After a full meal, Flame finally appeared.

"There you are! How many poképuffs did you eat THIS time?" interrogated Coal.

"Like...30?" Coal rolled his eyes as Flame continued. "Well anyway, I met this really pretty girl, she had two pink bows and such, and I came to ask if you guys were alright if I could watch the parade with her... Instead of you guys. I would feel guilty if I didn't ask."

"I don't see why not." Coal replied, while feather shrugged still intent on his last bit of okra. "just lets all meet up at the village entrance so that way we don't get lost or separated before we have to sleep. I'm getting a hotel for TONIGHT only."
