Chapter 9

It's Wednesday but they don't have classes since there was a flu outbreak in school and they decided to disinfect the campus. Luckily in their class, no one has caught flu so they're currently chilling in th living room.

Gyomei and Shinobu are preparing snacks for them as usual while Kanao's helping them. The Kamaboko squad are brainstorming for their special project.

Tengen and Rengoku are on their phones, Giyu is reading a book. Obanai and Mitsuri are playing board games while Muichiro is watching them.

Sanemi's annoying each one of them. Akio's eating some chocolates that Muichiro gave her while she watches tv. Sanemi decided to sit beside Akio and rest his arm on her shoulder.

"What the hell are you doing?" Questioned Akio with her one eyebrow raised.

"Watching tv." Said Sanemi. Akio then removed his arm on her shoulder as she continues to munch on the chocolate.

"Here Akio, have some soda." Said Gyomei as he put the glass of soda on the coffee table.

"Thank you Gyomei nii-san." She replied and Gyomei pat her head.


She took a sip on her soda and she suddenly felt someone holding her hand, when she looked at it, it was Sanemi and he took a bite of her chocolate. Not just a bite, he almost finished it.


"SANEMI YOU JERK!" Yelled Akio but Sanemi just laughed and he drank all of her soda which made her more pissed.

He quickly left her but she was fast, she threw the remote at him and it hit him on his back which made him groan in pain.

Akio caught up to him and she tackled him on the floor, once he was laying down, Akio sat on his lap and decided to suffocate him with a pillow. His wrist are pinned to the floor with her knees.

"ENOUGH!" Yelled Tengen when he saw the two. Rengoku then lifted Akio and Sanemi took a deep breath.

"What the hell were you just doing, Akio? You could've killed him!" Scolded Rengoku. It's very unsual for him to scold them.

"I wish I did." Said Akio then she went to her room.

"Sanemi... What did you do this time?" Asked Gyomei.

"I just took a bite of her chocolate and drank her soda. What's wrong with that?" Said Sanemi.

"What's wrong was, you didn't ask permission. She could've let you have some if you just asked her." Said Muichiro.

"Didn't you give her that?" Asked Sanemi and Mui nodded.

"I gave that because I accidentally ate the same type of chocolate. I didn't know it was hers." Mui replied.

"She'll probably skip dinner again." Said Shinobu and Tengen sighed.

"I thought you two are going well? I mean, I saw you hugging each other not too long ago." Muttered him. Sanemi was taken aback.

"I was just comforting her back then." He replied without sounding defensive.

"Well, better comfort her now." Said Gyomei. Sanemi sighed then he went to her room. He opened the door and saw his girlfriend covered under her sheets.

"Baby..." He softly called. Akio then removed the sheets. He locked the door behind him and sat on her bed with an apologetic look.

"I don't want to see you." She muttered.

"I'm sorry. You know I was just flirting with you." He said.

"That's not flirting, Sanemi. You know I'm hot headed." She replied.

"It's just so hard that they don't know about us. Why can't we just tell them?" He asked.

"We're going here again? I'm tired of explaining why we can't tell them." Akio replied in frustration.

"Why can't we, Akio? Give me one valid reason why can't we tell them that we love each other." Said Sanemi in a high tone.

"Because Gyomei will be disappointed in you that you landed on someone like me?" He added.

"Sanemi... Don't say that. You know that's not my reason." She replied.

"Then what's your reason?!" He yelled. Her eyes watered

"You're right, I don't have a valid reason why we can't tell them. Maybe it's time for us to go on our separate ways." She said while tears are slowly flowing on her face.

"Break up? You're breaking up with me? That's your solution to this petty fight?" He asked.

"It's not just about this fight anymore. I'm letting you go because you deserve someone better, someone who will not be scared to hold your hands in public, who will not be scared of talking to you in front of others. Sanemi, you do understand that I'm doing this for you, right?" She asked. Sanemi felt like his world shattered.

"A-Akio, I didn't mean what I said. I don't want someone else, I only want you. I don't want to get to know someone new. I'm sorry." He said while holding her face.

"No. I'm getting tired anyway and I'm sure that you're also getting tired from this." She said. Sanemi didn't say anything instead, he kissed her deeply.

"Enough, Sanemi. We're over." She said then she covered herself with her blanket.

Sanemi left her and he went into his room. He sat on his bed and burried his face on his hands while sighing in frustration.

Akio heard a knock on her door and she quickly fix her composure. The door opened revealing Giyu.

"Dinner." He simply said but Akio shook her head no.

"Again?" Giyu muttered then he sighed before he closed her door.

Akio cried under her blanket while burrying her face on the pillow to muffle the sounds. She stopped when she heard her door opened again.

"Sup, doll?" She heard Tengen said. She didn't reply.

"Everything okay?" He asked. Akio did her best to hide the fact that she's crying.

"Y-yeah, I'm just a bit tired you know." She replied under the blanket.

"Okay. Just checking in." He said then the door closed. He knows. He definitely knows.

Akio cried again while hugging her pillow and her heart stopped when someone lifted her blankets.

"I thought you're fine?" Asked Tengen with a smirk.

"Y-you... asshole..." Said Akio then she cried again.

"Come on, what happened to the two of you?" Asked Tengen then he sat on her bed.

"I-it's not about him." Lied Akio as she wipes her tears.

"You can't fool me, I know what's going in between you two." Tengen replied and she stopped crying. They exchange looks then Akio cried again.

"I'm sorry." She said while crying. Tengen opened his arms and Akio went to him.

"I'm sorry." She cried again. He then rubbed her back in comfort.

"Sshhh... It's okay, I'm not mad." He said. The two stayed like that for an hour.
