When I first woke up, around 9 am it took me a few seconds to remember where I was and why. I quickly threw my hair up into a high pony tail and walked downstairs timidly, I still felt a little awkward living in someone else's house even though Angie had welcomed me so nicely. I found my way to the kitchen and saw Angie flipping pancakes.
"Oh Brooke perfect timing im just about done with breakfast" Angie said smiling.
I saw Ellie sitting at the table with a plate in front of her ready to eat whenever her mom was done.
"Ellie will you go get Carter please" Angie asked flipping the final pancake.
Just as she finished asking I head a lazy morning voice from the doorway approach.
"Im here" Carter said in the doorway to the kitchen.
I looked up at him to see him just wearing a pair of grey sweatpants laying on his hips and no shirt exposing his extremely toned, muscular chest. I forced my eyes off his chest and I looked up at him to see him scanning my legs making me aware of how short my shorts were.
Our gazes caught each other and our eyes were locked, the same smirk as yesterday was on his face again. I forced myself to look away being the first one to break the stares.
I asked Angie if there was anything I could help her with and when she thanked me but responded she was okay I went and took a seat next to Ellie and across from Carter at the table.
Angie came over and set the pancakes on the wooden table and Carter grabbed three, and Ellie and I grabbed two.
"Okay guys I have to go run errands today, Carter I expect you to not leave Brooke alone and the both of you to watch Ellie" Angie said walking to grab her black purse that was sitting on a counter in the kitchen.
"I have plans today I'm going to Kyle's, cant Brooke just watch her?" Carter responded.
"No, invite the guys here then but you're staying until I get home" Angie said walking out the door not giving Carter time to argue.
After she left Carter grabbed his last pancake and walked upstairs eating it, I could tell he wasn't much of a morning person but neither am I and there was also nothing to talk about.
Ellie turned to me and asked if I would play a game with her today after she got dressed and I told her I would and she ran upstairs to get dressed.
I walked up the stairs to my room looking down at my phone responding to Paige's text asking me how everything was. Suddenly I ran into what felt like a wall at first but as I looked up I noticed it was Carters- now clothed chest I had ran into.
"Watch where you're going princess texting and walking seems to be a dangerous task for you" He said laughing lightly.
"Didn't I tell you not to call me that?" I replied attempting to push past him.
"Easy there, tough fight with the boyfriend going on right now?" He replied smirking thinking that was who I was texting.
"Yeah I don't date" I said annoyed.
"Well it looks like we have one thing in common then, by the way my friends are coming over in an hour just a heads up" He replied walking down the stairs and I walked the opposite way to my room to get ready for the day.
I left my naturally straight hair down and quickly applied some makeup then walked over to the closet that I had managed to unload half my clothes into last night. I decided to put on a pair of high waisted jean shorts, a tight halter top style black crop top and an unbuttoned flannel over it because I was a little cold.
