Chapter 12
I drive us back to my place, absolutely spent from our wonderful date together. I lean down and kiss her cheek as I get ready to take a shower. I've laid out some clothes for her to wear to bed. I send a quick text and toss my phone on the bed.

I decide to take a longer shower than really necessary but the hot water was definitely needed to work out the kinks that are starting to form in my neck and shoulders. I have to figure out what I'm going to do about Hazel, she shouldn't even be an issue and yet here we are. Yet again. My mind wanders back to Eden, how she looked tonight. It's a scary feeling letting someone have this power over you, knowing they could hurt you at a moments notice. The water starts to run cold so I step out of the shower and wrap a towel around my waist.

I'm still on the fence of what I'm going to do about Hazel when I walk into the bedroom and see Eden still fully clothed in her date clothes.  She looks at me with a weird expression and I follow her gaze to what she has in her hands. I realize it's my phone. I walk briskly to her and snatch my phone out of her hand, She clears her throat before speaking, gaining my attention. "So Hazel just called".

I feel the blood drain from my face as she stands up to leave. "And what did she have to say? What did she tell you?" I demand to know. She faces me, shoulders squared. This is not how I pictured tonight would go. "I want to hear it from you, like I should've in the first place." She sneers. Fuck, she knows.

"She and I have a daughter together." I finally come out with. She just nods her head slightly and turns to leave. I drop the towel and toss on some sweats, following after her. I grab her wrist and face her towards me. She just glowers at me. "Are we not going to talk about it?" I ask. "You've had all this time to tell me that you had a child and yet, you said nothing. Just when I thought things were going good. I should've just listened to Natalie when I had the chance." She mutters. "What does Natalie have to do with this? Did Hazel also tell you that neither of us have custody over our daughter? Hm? Did she tell you that, Eden?" I ask in a pleading voice.    She looks at me with wide eyes, she must not have told her. That pisses me off even more. "I think it's time you leave Eden. I'll drive you home." I say after a moment of silence. I turn around and grab a shirt, my keys, and walk out the door with her following me.

She has her hands clasped together as we drive in silence. "I didn't know Raiden." She finally states. "No, you didn't. But then again, you didn't really ask." I reply back. She looks out the window before speaking. "I asked you to tell me a secret tonight. Hell, you could've told me everything that first night." She half demands. I know she's right but I'm not letting her have this win. "Have you been over to Nates place?" I ask, clenching the steering wheel. "What does Nate have to do with this?" she replies loudly. "Just answer the fucking question Eden. Have you been over to Nates place?" I say each word slowly.

"Yes, I have been. I met his daughter Rachel, she's a sweetheart." She replies back, confusion taking over her face. "Then you've already met my daughter. Beautiful, isn't she?" I say quietly. "Raiden, I don't understand what's going on." She finally says after awhile. "Doesn't matter. Go talk to Natalie since you should've listened to her in the beginning. I'm sure she can tell you all about it now."
