3rd Person POV
———————————————
It was three weeks of Tanjiro not leaving his room unless it's to eat or use the restroom, but it was finally time for the final selection and he couldn't afford to be late. Tanjiro was making his way to the shed where his family stores weapons when he realized that he may be hated by the other demon slayer hopefuls if their senseis had some sort of feud with the creator of sun breathing. As Tanjiro was thinking about what to do if that was the case, a crow landed in front of him and told him to arrive at the final selection mountain a day earlier to discuss his breathing style. Tanjiro agreed and opened the door to the shed. His sword was pretty simple detail wise. It had a red handle (idk what those are actually called ok😭)

After collecting his sword and strapping it to his belt, he went inside to his kitchen

After collecting his sword and strapping it to his belt, he went inside to his kitchen.

"Mom I'll be leaving to the final selection now!" He called from the kitchen

"Good luck sweetie!" She called back just as nezuko walked out from her room.

"Goodbye brother, I'll miss you" she said, far more calm than her mother.

Tanjiro set out after saying his goodbyes for the very long and tiring trip he was about to depart on. It would take at least a week and a half to make it to the base of the mountain, and that's not even counting the rest stops he would have to make in between! He left his home village and started out through the forest bordering the village. It was around sunset at the the time so Tanjiro had little time before the demons started coming out. He decided he would rest at an inn around the village and continue his journey at sunrise.
