Chapter 5: Family discoveries and Despair

Author's Note: This chapter is based on Creep Season 1 Episode 12 leading up to the finale and the finale of our last time with Season 1 with 'Recovering the Satellites in three days.

MID-DAY OR AFTERNOON – FOSTER RANCH –

After the morning Mira and Michael had decided to split the bottles but their relaxation was interrupted hearing Alex walk by.

Alex as he walked, he asked "isn't it a little early?" noticing them drinking at daytime standing in front.

Mira took a sip sarcastically speaking "Not if you've had our morning."

Alex "all alright," he took the bottle ignoring her hey "you're cut off."

"Says who?" surprised and playful Mira asked

"Me, your boss... captain or did we forget who's the honorable Jr. Captain?" Alex asked. "And if you refuse to listen to me, I can easily take you to chief master sergeant and he will deal with you. Do you want that?"

"You're kidding?!"

Alex gave the strict look "does it look like I'm kidding? You are an honorable soldier and have a responsibility to me, my dad, and your country if you don't take any of this seriously you will be also honorably discharged from it... seriously Mira." He didn't want to go captain on her but how was he going to get her to listen?

Alex ignoring the sarcasm and the banter he had with her not having the time to go military now, continued talking Uh, I need both of your help with something. I told you a little bit about my brother's involvement with Project Shepherd.

Michael spoke up "The top-secret alien-hunting op?"

Alex confirmed replying "Right."

Mira once again being sarcastic "So weird how he never had me over for Sunday dinner."

Alex continued to ignore her sarcasm continuing to speak "Technically, it was established to cover up the UFO and any subsequent activity. But, yeah, I do think there was a more sinister element to it."

She gave her full attention "we're listening."

Alex [CONT] "I keep finding mention of a prison named Caulfield. It shut down in the '70s, but some of the heat signatures that we've detected are inconsistent with human body temperature."

Michael responded "typical, Aliens."

Alex points out "Potentially. We won't know until we see for ourselves, but maybe. You do run hot, Evans."

In denial and refusal to believe that, she replied "There's no way. There's just, there's no way other aliens survived. We'd have known."

Alex took this as an opportunity and punishment with her attitude as he saw his truck drive by he looked at her "Then what's the harm in a road trip?" he grinned looking at her.

"Alex... what the hell did you do?" Mira asked both curious and agitated as she clenched her jaw

Alex gulped because he will possibly get it later for this he spoke "Don't kill me, There, uh, there is one catch."

(car door opens)

(exhales)

Kyle asked with a bit of pep in his tone "Who's driving?"

As this suddenly all happened. She looked and then turned her head slightly back at Alex her expression read I am so going to kill you for this,

Getting off the truck she backed up not having it anyway
