Chapter 23

Sasukes pov

Even though it's was many months ago, I still vividly remember the day I married Naruto.

On the day of the wedding, I woke up feeling both nervous and excited as a part of me wanted to relish in the moment whereas another wanted the wedding to just be over with. Following stupid traditions I wasn't permitted to see Naruto until the ceremony begun however Sakura stayed by my side the whole time, helping me get ready and calming my nerves which I really appreciated.

I walked down the isle alongside Seto and Azia who were meant to be throwing flower petals but instead decided to ignore every rehearsal and follow me around with the petal baskets in their hands without throwing a single petal. Azia wore a frilled white dress and Seto was suited up in a black tuxedo so even though they failed as my flower girl/boy, they made amends by looking cuter than usual.

When I arrived at the altar where Naruto stood, Seto and Azia walked over to Kushina and Minato who were seated in the front row.

"Repeat after me," the priest instructed us before reading out a list of vows.

"I, Sasuke, take thee, Naruto, to be my wedded husband. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health till death do us apart" I repeated.

Kushina who was sitting in the front row could be heard bawling her eyes out at maximum volume all the way through my vows. It was slightly distracting but also comforting to see how passionately she felt about my union with her son. Minato whispered to her in the lowest tone possible, begging her to get it together. Honestly, it was quite the scene however we ignored this display and continued with the ceremony.

"I,Naruto, take thee,Sasuke to be my wedded husband. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health till death do us apart."

"I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss the groom" instructed the priest.
Naruto leant in for a gentle kiss which I returned before quickly pulling away as public displays of affection have always been intolerable to me.

Since this day, I became known as Sasuke Uzumaki.

In the midst of reminiscing on my fondest memories,a sharp pain travelled through my stomach, this was accompanied by my water breaking.

I screamed for Naruto who was downstairs. He rushed upstairs and was greeted by me contracting, allowing him to immediately understand the reason for my scream.

He picked up the pre packed hospital bag before calling Itachi and asking him to pick the kids up from kindergarten.

"Calm down babe, just take slow breaths" Naruto adviced me after seeing how panicked I was.
He escorted me to the car then placed me in the front seat. Even as he drove, Naruto held my hand and rubbed it in order to comfort me.

"Are you sure it's safe to drive with one hand?" I muttered. Naruto chuckled in response and asked if I'd prefer if he drove with both. I squeezed onto his hand defensively and greedily refused. I knew it was inconsiderate but I needed to feel Naruto's presence in order to get through this.

When we arrived at the hospital I was rushed to the VIP room that Naruto had pre booked. The midwife suggested that I take epidural anaesthesia but I refused. 

"Are you sure Sasuke? There's no need to put yourself through any unnecessary pain."
"I want to remember how it felt to give birth to our daughter, just like with Seto and Azia" I said through heavy breaths. He nodded in response but his face still  harboured a worried look which I understood given he'd never been in a delivery room before.
