"CACAW!!! CACAW!!!! ATTENTION, KANAO, IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP!!!! ATTENTION!"
Kanao's eyes opened, slowly but surely. She blinked a couple of times, trying to get her eyes adjusted to the sunlight streaming through her small bedroom window. She had been in the darkness for a long time last night since her room was so dark and that wonderful dream took place at nighttime as well. Her cheeks flushed red, remembering that wonderful man and the wonderful sensation he gave her when he kissed her on the cheek. He was so kind to her, except when he threatened her, which was scary, and made her feel something that she had never felt before, not even with Master Shinobu.
She wanted to remember everything about him, from the way he held her hand, gently but firmly, to the way that he had gazed deep into her eyes. He treated her like a queen, something that nobody else had ever done before. Everyone else, besides Shinobu, had always treated her like a tool like she didn't have feelings or wasn't even a person. Even the nicest Hashira, Mitsuri, was rather awkward with her whenever she interacted with Kanao. He wasn't, though.
He acted like he knew her for quite a long time, even calling her "dear." Her head buzzed with the fresh memories of last night. She remembered him kissing her on the cheek, how that made her blush. Nobody had ever done that to her before, and she wanted to know why he kissed her on the cheek and liked her so much. She personally believed that she was nothing special, certainly nothing a young man would ever want.
She also believed that she would never get married, because of her personality. People often told her that she had so little of it anyway, and she didn't have very much to hide on the surface. Kanao did not know what that meant, since she wasn't an expert on love. Heck, she didn't even know what love meant! But what she did know was that he made her have a funny feeling on the inside.
She wanted to keep on dreaming that dream forever. She just wanted to stay by his side, eternally. But, she knew, deep inside her heart, that that wasn't possible. And she hated it. Last night, the dream ended when she had sighed.
The guy asked her what was wrong, and she said it wasn't any of his concern. She was thinking in her head at the time what she could possibly be feeling, and how Master Shinobu would feel about all of this. She didn't want him to get involved in any of the crap that she was thinking about. However, after Enmu pressed her to tell him, she finally admitted to him that she didn't know what she was feeling. But he just inquired her further until she got annoyed and admitted to him that she didn't know what she was feeling for him.
Then, the dream world faded away, as the sun does behind the clouds. "COME ON, YOUNG MASTER! GET UP!! NO SLEEPING IN!!!" The kasugai crow screeched.
Kanao slowly got up out of her futon, taking notice that she wasn't feeling any pain in her stomach. Good. That hurt badly and interrupted her sleeping time. Kanao brushed her hair, doing her daily routine. After brushing her teeth, Kanao went outside.
She fell asleep in her regular clothes, and Kanao was going on a mission anyway, so she kept her corps uniform on. The crow fell silent, landing on her shoulder, and also went outside with her. When she went outside she was greeted by Master Shinobu. "Good morning, Kanao-Chan! Did you sleep well last night?" She inquired. Kanao nodded her head in response.
