Chapter 15

Alex pov

"Well, well, well. Look who it is." Looking up I make eye contact with Shawn. I give him a small smile before I dart my eyes away. I feel my nerves stew.

"Alex, behave." Stacy scolds me before walking over to Mike.

Following behind I drag me feet.
"Hey." I say quietly.

"Hey Al." He says before pulling me in for a hug. I feel my heart sting from hearing him calling me Al. I breath in his familiar sent as his long arms drape around me. I can't help fall into the hug. He was my comfort for so long. Pulling apart I feel my nerves settle.

"You ready?" He questions before turning his feet to walk out the lobby.

"Yeah," I say following closely behind him, leaving Stacy and Mike to catch up. As we walk outside he puts his hand out for me to hold it. He senses my hesitation.
"Common, I don't bit." He teases.
Rolling me eyes I continue walking rejecting he hand.

He gives a small chuckle before catching up to me.

"I still see your as stubborn as ever." He say.

I shrug my shoulders not feeling a need to reply. I can't help but to think back to our history. We were best friend turned lovers. It was the picture perfect relationship but I should have know we were doomed from the start.

"What are you thinking about?"

"How do you know I'm thinking about something?" I fire back.

"Common Al, I know you." He states obviously proud of his answers.

"So, what have you been up lately?" I say wanting to change the topic.

"Changing the topic I see. Very well, I've been busy getting ready to tour, like you. I'm also working on new music but nothing to crazy. What about you?"

"Tour, new music, nothing too exciting." I reply not wanting to talk much.

"Alex, Shawn. Hop in, we don't want to be late for your dinner reservations." Stacy yells out the window of the black SUV. Without a word we get in. The drive is long and boring. Sitting in the car listen to Stacy and Mike talking about what's acceptable and what's not. It's not until we pull up to a crowded restaurant that I get some relief. I can see the crowd of people forming and the paparazzi awaiting our exit.

"Wow, you really got the word out that we were going to be her.. huh." I say to Stacy. Stacy ignores my remark and continues talking.

"We will be back at exactly 7:30. Do not leave the restaurant. Do you understand me?" Stacy say clearly talking to me.
