Celeste

Thursday 24th October 2019

Dear Diary,
I'm going to a party soon. This is a good thing, right? I'm stepping out of my comfort zone to attend a party. Maybe Sam was right - about me finally accepting the social trait. Why else am I bothering to leave my house? Or allowing Cameron back into my life?
Maybe it's because I haven't had fun in a long while. I'm probably just desperate.
Either way, I'm hoping it turns out alright.
Wish me luck :)

- Celeste K. Deveroux

Taking a deep breath, I press Isa's contact. She'll help me with both the nerves and the outfit. She's good at that.

"Hello?" A young male voice whispers.

"Danny? Is that you?" I question.

Daniel is Isa's younger brother. So adorable, honestly. I remember 7 years ago when he was just born. Isa must've cried for weeks - complaining that she was no longer the family princess. I laughed at her one of those times, but never again, once I realized how the same thing could easily happen to me. Although, I was never really treated like the princess. My mom worked nonstop until she couldn't at all. Leaving her miserable pretty much all the time.

"Yeah! Celeste, sorry but Bella can't come to the phone right now." He replies in a small giggle.

"Why not-"

"DANIEL ALEJANDRO MENDOZA! IF YOU DON'T GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE I'LL TELL MOM IT WAS YOU WHO BROKE HER FAVOURITE MUG AND NOT THE DOG!" Isa yells.

I laugh at their antics as I walk over to my closet and scan through a few outfit options. Over the next half an hour, Isa convinces me to wear something cute and comfortable, then advices me to add on light makeup. I decided to put half of my curly hair up since I mostly have it in a bun.

I look in the mirror one last time, observing my light blue ripped jeans - with a black cropped lace top and a jean jacket thrown over. I like it, and I think I'm ready.

I mentioned to my mom this morning that I was going out with Isa, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't paying any attention. Right now she's not even home - I'm totally surprised. She's probably out with Liam somewhere. Disgraceful if you ask me.

My thoughts are interrupted when I hear a knock on the front door.
It must be Cameron.

But it wasn't.

In fact, it was someone I never thought I'd see again.
The guy from the park.

I made sure to make my disbelief evident, so that it was obvious that I was completely clueless as to why he showed up to my house. Did he stalk me? He gave me the impression that he'd do that. What if he's a psychopath who will-

"Ouch. I'm not that ugly." He smirked.

You're right. You're the opposite from ugly, but that's besides the point. I mean, hello? I'm about to die!

He chuckles. "I'm not here to kill you."
Did I not say that in my head?

"What are you doing here, then?" I cross my arms.

That had caused a shift in his facial expression. It's almost as if I had asked a dumb question. He's so weird.
He was glaring at me with his bright, amber eyes. It was almost as if he could see everything inside my soul. Almost as if he knew...me. My focus shifted to his outer ear, displaying a small sized rose tattoo. There was something about him, something familiar yet something so different - surely nothing I've seen before. And that's when it hit me.

"Wait...are you...Jace?" I stumbled. Cameron did mention Jace would be the one driving. But why would he come to my door instead of Cameron? Perhaps I'm wrong.

"Don't tell me you actually forgot about me." He smiles as he leans on the door frame.

Okay...perhaps not.

The suspicious stranger from the park is this anonymous friend? I highly suggest that Sam and Cameron reconsider.

After a moment of taking it in, I sigh.
"Where's Cameron?"

"In the car. I had to park further down and he told me to get you. Saying something along the lines of your mom shutting the door in his face."

I nod, still on edge. "Let's go then."
