The barista immediately recognises Harry.

"H, how are you? Haven't seen you in forever! You want your regular or try something else?"

"Thanks, love. Yeah I'll take my regular and he's gonna take a cup of breakfast tea."

Harry feels Louis eyes on him, they went to a few cafés with their group so he is quite familiar with Louis typical plain order, that never changes.

"I'll bring you your drinks in a bit. Take a seat, wherever."

"Thanks, Nora."

He smiles wildly at her, before moving to a place in the back that is near a window. Harry loves to look out of a coffee shop window and just watch people go on with their daily life, not knowing someone looks at them and thinks about what they might be up to.

Louis takes place on the chair opposite to him.

"So... What happend?"

"Why are you so sure something happened? Maybe I just didn't want to spend time with you."

"Because you were happy before you're classes and than you not only didn't text me but you also looked as if you were about to cry. If you want me to leave just say it."

"It's stupid."

"I'll judge about that."

"Just thought about Nick, and realized it's really over. All we had. Over."

Tears emerge from his eyes. He tries to blink them away but it didn't work.

"It's alright, if you feel like shit."

"Louis, I don't think you're qualified to give out relationship advice."

Harry realises what he just said.

"I'm sorry Louis. Just because you haven't been with someone serious since I know you, does not mean that you have no idea how a relationship works. Wasn't my place."

"You're right. It's not your place. And I'm quite good with the stuff about heartbreak and unrequited love. Been there a few times in the past and it gets better over time. I know it sounds stupid and like a calender quote but it's true. And if they were meant to be for you, it would not hurt like that. The right person will not bring you pain."

There's a silence forming between them. They never spoke that deeply about anything nor over their love lives at all. Before the silence could weight to heavy Louis added

"And a few cuppas can't harm as well."

Harry bursts out in laughter.

"So you'll take me out to coffee again?"

He wiggles with his eyebrows.

"Depends on how this date is going. But till now, I lean towards yes. So please don't ruin it young Harold."

Louis adds with a flirty wink.

Nora emerges in that moment and Harry was never more happy to get interrupted. He isn't sure how Louis does it, but being here with him helps.

"Here are you're drinks."

"Thanks, Nora. This is Louis by the way."

Harry thought about adding a 'my boyfriend' or 'my date' but he doesn't want to lie to her, they were to good of friends for that.

"Nice to meet you!"

"You to o! I like your tea, maybe I'll come back."

He laughs.

"I'd like that. Bring H with you, quite missed his face. Must have been months since you came here, with that boy of yours- what was his name again?"

Harry takes a deep breath, opening his mouth.

"Nick. Nick was his name. But don't worry, you won't see him here again. At least not with Harry."

Louis turns his head towards Harry and smiles fondly at him.

"Ah, I see. Good catch, H. I already like Louis better."

Nora leaves after winking at him.

"Thank you, for answering that."

"No worries. That's what I'm here for you. For you. And for you to feel better."

They sip their drinks without talking anymore, just looking at each other from time to time. Both enjoying the comfort the silence provides.

*a small one but hope you still like it.*
