Lizzie was panting heavily when she woke up, her heart thundering against her chest. She took a number of deep breaths and looked around her room to remind her where she was - fearing that she would wake up somewhere unfamiliar - just like her nightmares.

It had happened again.

The realisation sent waves of dread through her body. Sitting upright, she took a deep breath and pulled her bonnet from her head, letting her curls fall down to her shoulders, before rubbing her hands over her eyes, brushing the sleep away.

These mornings - waking up in a sweat and a racing heartbeat - had, unfortunately, become somewhat of a regular occurrence.

She had almost accumulated to waking up in the middle of the night, panic-stricken with the images of lightning flashes in her mind.

It had been the same nightmare each time. She would wake up in an empty lot, somewhere that had been long since abandoned and would look around in a daze to see the immediate vicinity covered in nothing but wires. She never had enough time to fully register the sight before her gaze was pulled down to her own hands, her hands that were sparking with electricity.

The ending was the worse part. It always ended the same. It always ended with her killing someone.

Sometimes it was Bree, other times it was Chase, and on the odd occasion, it was Adam, but almost always, it was Leo.

Almost as if he could sense that he was currently occupying her thoughts, fearful as they may be, Leo's caller ID illuminated her phone screen and was quickly accompanied by his ringtone.

"Stanton Corporation, how may you bother me today?"

"I'd like some emotional support with a side of sarcasm," Lizzie found it difficult to fight off the smile that appeared at the sound of his voice.

"I don't know," She drawled with a grin. "That's a pretty pricey package, are you sure you can afford it?"

"I'll buy you a pack of Pepsi?"

"Done."

There was a moment of silence before Leo sighed heavily down the phone, "My family never stops stressing me out."

Lizzie, once again, felt the uncontrollable desire to physically throttle Donald Davenport. "I don't doubt that for a second," She joked lightheartedly. "What did they do now?"

"Bree got exposed to some deadly gas on a mission and the only thing she needed to do was stay in her capsule until we figured out the antidote but did she? Of course not," Leo didn't wait for her to answer before he continued on his rant. "She runs off to see an art showing just because her stupid boyfriend had a piece in it, then I finally get her back to the lab and they're all just waiting there and acting like it's my fault she ran off!"
