adam walked down the hall of the hotel towards his brothers doors. he's heard of the influx of residents from other worlds due to their homes being taken by something called darkness.. whatever the hell it was. merlin had said that traverse town was the safest, but aerith had been more on edge than before. he sighed and gave a knock on jacks door, calling "jack, wake up, we have work to do today." he waited for any sort of sound for movement.

ryan was already up the next door over, staring at his hand. he had a dream.. and it still felt.. real. he shook his head, getting up out of bed and getting ready for the day.

A Jack-sized thunk was heard behind the door, followed by a faint groan, then some shuffling, then the slow opening of the door. A disheveled, groggy-looking Jack was revealed, still in his pajamas. "...I'm up."

"good morning, sleeping beauty." adam laughed softly, "meet me outside when you get dressed. both of you." he called, "aerith wants us to help with supply relocation. leons busy, so we're the second choice."

ryan slowly opened his door, peeking out at his brothers. they're still here.. phew. he opened the door the rest of the way, adjusting his jacket and putting his hands in his pockets.

Jack frowned and irately muttered something about Adam's "sleeping beauty" remark under his breath as he shut his door again and started hunting around for a set of clothes.

Jack looked around the room as fast as he could and found a hoodie and a pair of jeans; he guessed those would do. He tossed them on quickly and met Adam back in the hallway.

"hm? You got something to say, j?" Adam rose his brows, ryan already making his way outside without the other two.

Ryan sighed at the fresh morning air.. well.. as morning as it could be since traverse town always seemed to be dark. He barely remembered what daylight looked like.

"No, no, I'm good," Jack replied, continuing past Adam and following Ryan outside. He opened the front doors to the neon lights of the city, the surrounding shops just opening up for business. But...the streets around them were silent, and almost completely empty. They'd been that way for a while now, ever since the darkness had started taking worlds. It was...saddening to see. Traverse Town used to be such a hub of energy and vibrancy; now it was just...this. Even with all of the new residents, there was so little life. Jack sighed as he stood next to Ryan and looked out over the Second District.

"...How long do you think it's gonna be like this?" He asked.

".. I don't know, J. I can't really say.." ryan mumbled softly, putting a hand on the others shoulder and squeezing it softly. "At least we have each other. Dunno what i'd do if i was here without you guys.." he mumbled softly.

Adam was about to head out when he thought he heard something behind him. He turned around, looking around the hall with a confused look before he exited, joining his younger brothers with a sigh.

Jack chuckled slightly, looking at the ground. He glanced back at Adam with a half-smile; his expression shifted to concern when he noticed his brother's disposition. "...Adam? Is everything alright?"

"..yeah.. yeah i'm okay.. i.. thought i heard something, but i think i just didn't get enough sleep. Still not used to it always being night time here." Adam chuckled softly, pulling his hair back into its usual bun hairstyle.

"Well we've been living here for three years already, don't know how you aren't." Ryan gently punched adams shoulder before backing up and taking off in a sprint. "Last one to the first district is a rotten egg!!" He cried, adam looking at jack with a little sigh and a shrug.
