'Venti, it's time for closing, get out of my tavern please.'

'But whyyy, don't you like, want someone to accompany you or something, I could sing you a song~'

'No, get out of my tavern, please.'

'But I have nowhere to stay tonight!' :(

Diluc looks outside the window, it certainly is quite stormy outside.

'You- can stay with me tonight...'

'Woah, Master Diluc is being nice to me? Well this opportunity is quite hard to come by.'

'Don't make me regret this, let's go.'

-

Ah yes, the dawn winery, home to the owner of the largest wine tycoon in Mondstadt. Some may be jealous when they pass by, after all, Dliuc is the richest man in Mondstadt, hell, he even had the biggest house in Mondstadt, with the most maids, too. But he was the only one who lived here. Ever since his father passed, Kaeya left as well, the house was often empty, and all the liveliness was gone.

Diluc never had time for love, or maybe it was because he didn't really believe in it. Perhaps his father would've wanted him to continue the bloodline, but it's never too late for anything, right? He had plenty of time, and right now, he just hasn't found the right person yet. That's what he thinks, at least. The feeling of being in love with someone makes them vulnerable, as the dark night hero of Mondstadt, he has no time to be vulnerable to anyone. Who can be trusted and who can't? Who knows how good people are at acting.

Love was just something Diluc didn't feel like he needed. It's a waste of time, and time was something he doesn't want to lose. He had to be careful, he's considered as quite an enemy to the fatui, and they abyss order clearly didn't like him either. He had a fair amount of admirers, admirers he has no time to care for. Every second something or someone would be a potential harm to Mondstadt, and his duty was to protect this city. The dark knight hero can't really let down a whole city now, can he?

-

As they approach the dawn winery, Diluc's 'home', maids greet him with a smile on their faces. Those smiles probably aren't even genuine, Diluc never smiles back anyways, just a simple greeting, and he goes back to working in his office, signing paperwork and more paperwork and some more paperwork. As Diluc and Venti enter the winery, Diluc requests for the maids to prepare a room for Venti.

'I'm going to go clean up, make yourself comfortable.'

-

As Diluc steps into his room, and unexpected surprise awaits him.

All he wanted was a peaceful night, but what did he get? He got Venti. Asleep. Right on his bed. Archons, what did he do to deserve this? This is why he hates drunkards.

But whatever, he usually worked day and night, and tomorrow? Tomorrow will be no different. He needed all the rest he could get, he doesn't have the time to adjust to a new bed, and he also didn't have the energy to move Venti. They weren't strangers anyways, it would be fine to sleep in the same bed for just one night.

Diluc climbs into his silky king sized bed in his black pajamas, and drowsiness takes over his body, and he eventually succumbs and heads into the dream world.

-

Venti wakes up, in a surprisingly comfortable area. Huh, the outside grass has never been this comfortable before, neither has any trees he's been in. How strange. Plus, where did this blanket come from- wait. This isn't outside, this doesn't look like an inn either... and why is there a blob of red on the pillow next to him, is he hallucinating?

Venti pulls the blanket a little lower, just to see... see... MASTER DILUC? Why is he in the same bed as master Diluc? What did they do last night? How did they end up like this? Oh god, master Diluc is going to kill him... what is he supposed to do? Pray? Pray to who? HIMSELF? Just calm down, maybe, just maybe Venti could get out of this situation before master Diluc wakes up, he just needs to be really quiet.

'Venti? You're awake?'

Busted.

'Master Diluc! Hi! Good morning!'

'Mhm, whatever.'

Diluc gets out of bed and heads for the washroom.

Okay, so he's not mad right? Because Venti has NO mora to pay off his tab, nor does he have any to pay Diluc back for letting him stay here.

-

As time passes, this basically became a usual practice. Venti gets drunk, Diluc takes him in, Diluc gets ready for bed, Venti passed out on his bed, Diluc ignores him, they sleep in the same bed as usual, and so on.

It's been so common to the point that the maids will welcome Venti home when he walks by, which the dawn winery certainly, or at least shouldn't be, his home.

But of course, Venti does sometimes come to visit, NOT drunk ( how rare. ), and everytime Venti is here, the house is less lonely.

The liveliness is back, and the all famous winery is no longer dead silent.

-

Diluc would've never expected this. He would've never thought one day he would give in to love, and stand in the front of the Favonius church, dressed all in white.

And Diluc would've never thought the love of his love walking down the aisle would be the one and only Venti.

Diluc has always hated Venti, or that's what he's been telling himself, but now? Something about Venti, just draws Diluc towards him, Diluc doesn't really know what it is, but it's there.

But his regrets? None. The church doors open, and Venti walks in. And he looks absolutely ravishing today. Well, Venti looks amazing everyday, but still.

Venti's walk feels like an eternity, but it's worth it, he's holding a bouquet of white flowers Diluc chose, and Diluc can't help but smile. He never thought he would have anyone genuinely love him, and he never thought of having a lover, the thought of getting married just didn't sit right with him, but here he is, so close to shedding a tear, right on the day that he and Venti, will be named to be together, forever.
