She helped me get into her bed as I turned to the other side and closed my eyes.
I could hear her sigh behind me as the door closed.
Tears flowed down my cheeks as I let them wet my pillow.
Two years ago I abandoned her, for a cooler set of friends. I abandoned my only best friend. I abandoned the only girl who accepted me for who I was.
I left her alone in this cruel world. We were each other's safe place. But I kicked her out and played with her feelings.
Here she was again.
Being the same helpful and selfless girl she was.
I met with an accident 2 months ago.
I lost all ability to walk.
My parents, the people who I thought loved me...kicked me out saying I was too much of a problem.
But she came back. As if she never left.
She came back and gave me a home.
I was too embarrassed to even look at her.
She helped me with everything.
Eating, dressing u, everything.
She was there.
The people who I thought were my friends turned their back on me and called me "Wheelchair boy".
But she didn't, she smiled and picked my hand kissed it.
She didn't once scream at me for leaving her.
She didn't say that I was wrong.
She didn't laugh at me.
I wiped my tears as I heard the door opening.
Her cold hands wrapped a fluffy blanket around me as I smiled at her kindness.
She turned the aircon down as she was about to leave.
"Don't leave" I whispered.
I heard the door stop midway as she closed it.
I wondered if she had stayed or gone out.
Who would want to stay in the same room with the person who betrayed them?
Hands slid around my waist as her face pressed up against my neck.
Just the way we slept when we were kids.
She kissed my neck sweetly as I could feel her slowly relax into the warmth around her.
I tried turning around as I pulled her into my chest and wrapped my hands around her.
She smiled in her sleep as I kissed her forehead.
"I'm sorry" I whispered as I fell asleep with an angel beside me.
She worked hard to make sure I had everything I needed.
Ever since I moved in she had shifted to working from home so she could take care of me.
Her parents lived on the other side of town.
She moved out when she was 21, to come and study in the city.
I looked at her to see the beautiful woman she had become.
