Paperwork in order, I was told to pack... which didn't take long. "Here, Son, let me help you." I glared at Eggman as he took my suitcase and thanked the workers, walking out. "Is this even legal!?" I asked Lisa, who nodded. "Sorry Sonic." "It's... not your fault." "LET'S GO." "I'M COMING!" We screamed at each other. I followed Eggman out as slowly as possible. He tossed my suitcase in a car I didn't know he owned and told me to get in. "Make me." "Hedgehog, in. Or I will make you regret it." "You ruined my life." "You ruined mine first." I just huffed and refused. But then I was lifted and shoved into a carseat in the backseat. I squirmed as I was buckled in and locked in place. "Hey!" I was ignored and he got in the driver's seat after he shut the door. My seat was behind him, so I kicked the back of his seat agressively. "Knock it off, Brat." "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" I repeated, still kicking his seat. "STOP IT OR YOU WILL BE PUNISHED." "ARE WE THERRRRRRRRRRE YET?" I screamed, kicking as fast as I could. "OGILVIE!" I stopped all movements... I didn't want him to know anything more about me, so I didn't explain but looked at the carseat. "That's not my name, don't call me that. What's with this stupid seat anyways. I can literally drive a car, I don't need this seat." I pointed out trying to completely ignore the name thing, which I did. "Gotta keep the baby safe you know." He teased. "I'm not a baby." "You're the size of one." "That's because YOU'RE the size of a humpback whale." "Funny. Keep it quiet, pin-cushion." "Whatever..." I looked out the window as he drove to his lab. If he tried ANYTHING, I'd be right there to stop him. He pulled into the loooong twisting driveway up to the massive building. "Overkill." "Shut up!" He parked and got out. I tried to unbuckle myself, but it didn't work. "Of course... why did I think he'd be civilized?" My door opened after Eggman shut his and he unbuckeled my seatbelt for me. "Get your bag and follow me." I huffed for the millionth time today and dragged my suitcase behind me as Eggman led me inside. "You love me THAT much you couldn't stay out of my life for three years?~" I teased. He didn't even look at me... "Thought you'd like a front row seat to view the destruction of the world you can't protect." "Oh I will. If my team struggles to stop you, I will stop you myself." "And then what? Your team gets to spend life behind bars, get NO further income... if you stop me, you will ruin their lives too." I stopped in my tracks and looked at my shoes. "Ruin...their lives...?" I mumbled. He had a point... and I hated that... I couldn't fight or I would be risking them losing everything too. "Hurry up, Rat." I looked up to see him still walking. I used my speed to catch up and he scolded me. "No running inside! The last thing I want is scuff marks all over the floors." "Would you rather have me run on the walls? The ceiling perhaps?" "Smartass." "I know you're plotting something Egghead, there's no chance you want me here for any other reason than to brag that I can't help my friends." "Yeah. Plus as your legal guardian, you have to follow my rules." "Rules can be broken." "And with broken rules comes consequences." "Worth it." "We'll see." He stopped and opened a door to a prison cell styled room that didn't even have a window. "Classy." "Make yourself at home, Rodent, I have work to do. Don't break anything either." "Sure thing..." I mumbled, letting him walk away, snatching his wallet as he passed me. Once he was out of sight, I snuck out to do a little shopping.

After I arrived in the shopping center, I felt stares again... I wasn't as intimidating because now I was seen as just a kid, so I kept my head down and picked out some stuff. Paint, necessities, a few posters, videogames and systems. Ya know, basics. I then went clothes shopping and bumped into some familiar faces. "Sonic?" I turned to look at the female speaker. "Amy! Hey... hey guys." I said, watching all 5 of my friends walk up to me. "I thought you went into an orphanage..." "Yup... didn't last long though." "Sonic, you're not supposed to be on your own. You can get into trouble over this." Rouge scolded. "I'm not.... uh... Somebody... yeah." Alot of 'Oh's followed. "Nobody we know personally I hope... Unless it's Vanilla?" "Nope... just some random lady." I lied, and they nodded. "So Amy.... you took over as the team leader huh? Gabe showed me that you guys are adapting well already." "Gabe...?" "...some kid I met." "Your age?" Shadow questioned with a smirk. "...yeah..." "What was that like? Being around kids I mean... like your age..." Tails asked. "Very strange... given my heroic past, the girls were all over me. Which just felt so wrong on so many levels." "Sonic... you are 15, you can have an interest in other 15 year olds." Knuckles pointed out. "Still too weird man...Got the identity of a 20 year old, so...not interested. Or in relationships in general." He shrugged at this and attempted to joke with me. "It's a phase, when you're old enough, you'll start liking the girls. Or boys. Or non-binary beans." I smiled and he smiled back a little bit. "Whatever, we're busy doing grown up things. Good luck with you new 'Mommy' or whatever. Come on gang." Amy said rudely as she pushed past me. "Wha-....?" I was taken back by her sudden sass but rules it off as her being upset with me still. Knuckles followed her after giving me a fist bump and Tails did as well, only feeling comfortable waving at me, which was perfectly fine with me so I waved back. "...She's worse than you are now Shady... Anyways see ya soon, Sweetie, ok?" My ears lowered but I nodded. "Y-yeah... bye..." "Only for now." Shadow added before the two of them hugged me or pat my back and left as well. I didn't want to stick around any longer so I paid and left after getting a blanket and pillow. Explosions went off and my-... Amy's... team went to stop the attack. Seeing it was Eggman, I sprinted back to his base and just started decorating my room.
