"Grow Up!" {On Hold}

'Another loss. ANOTHER ONE!?' Was all Eggman could think as he fled the most recent battlefield to his home base. He was pissed, he not only lost the battle, but he lost thousands of dollars worth of robots too. Including Metal Sonic. Bocoe and Decoe were barely capable of making it out safely. "I need to get rid of that little rat!" Eggman shouted. "W-well Sonic and his friends are strong, Doctor...!" Bocoe stated. However, Eggman completely forgot what he said after what Decoe said after it. "Yeah, who knew a 15 year old could do all that damage?" Eggman paused, but ruled the comment off as a comment about Amy. "Amy Rose is 18 now, you bucket of bolts!" Eggman explained. Decoe shook his head. "I know! I was talking about Sonic, Sir." "Sonic is 23 years old." "No, his medical and skill level scan that Metal took before he got disassembled says that Sonic is only 15." "...Print the scan results. NOW!" Eggman commanded. Yelping, Decoe rushed to the printer and did as he was told. Eggman nearly ripped the paper as he snatched it away from his worker... But once her had it and read it over, his eyes nearly popped out of his head. It was true. Metal took one last scan to update his system to be capable of adapting to Sonic's newer fighting patterns. Metal scanned Sonic as a 15 year old. "This... this can't be right, Sonic's been my rival for ages. There is NO chance that I've ever lost to a CHILD!" "You've lost to Miles and he's currently 10." "NOT HELPFUL!" After letting the information sink in for a few hours, the evil returned and Eggman started thinking of ways to use Sonic's age against him and ruin the team. All day and night. However, the next battle set all the puzzle pieces into place.

I was walking through a meadow looking for my grumpy rival. He beat me in a race by cheating so I wanted a rematch... however, a call interrupted my search. I picked up and was greeted by screaming. "SONIC! EGGMAN IS ATTACKING THE CITY AGAIN, HURRY!" "On my way!" I responded, hanging up and placing my phone in my pocket before taking off. Nothing we couldn't handle. Some robots here and there, an occational missile attack... no biggie. We destroyed them all in record time! Everything was going great. Until... something unexpectedly serious happened. I was doing a bit of a victory lap, sprinting at about 95% speed... and I lost my footing. In my panic, I destroyed several small buildings AND crashed into Eggman and his two robo goons, Bocoe and Decoe. "Ahh!" I screamed as I crashed to a halt. I'm sure you're wondering why this is a serious problem... well... we may be world heroes, but they still have strict rules for how we work. In and out of battle. And they don't take lightly to us destroying property as Eggman does that more than enough for us all. Plus, Eggman could sue me or even my whole team for assault. Sure it was an accident, and sure he's evil.... but in that moment, he was unarmed and about to leave, and there were no witnesses asides from my team.... who would be biased. "Ow! You idiotic rodent!" "Sorry..." I mumbled, not thinking about the consequences of my actions at the time. "You deserved it though." I said, returning to my friends. "Yikes... you totaled those shops, bro." Knuckles said. "Yeah... I-I slipped. We can just blame Eggman right? There's nobody else around to say otherwise..." "Yup." "Definitely Eggman." "I saw nothing, hun~" "....As if I care either way this goes." We all agreed.

But life isn't that easy now is it...?

The following day, a knock on my door drew my attention away from the video game me and Knuckles were competing in. I handed my controller to Tails to take over as I went to the door. After peaking through the peephole, I opened it, seeing a wolf in a fancy suit. "Uh... hi, can I help you?" "Ogilvie M. Hedgehog?" I was slightly agitated by my legal name being used. "Sonic.... and yeah, that's me. 'Blue dude with an attitude'? 'Blue blur'? 'Fastest thing alive'. What can I do for ya?" "Nothing." He said, handing me something. "You've been served~" He smirked, leaving as fast as he arrived. "Wha-?" I shut the door and looked at the documents as I returned to my room where we were hanging out. "EGGMAN IS TAKING ME TO COURT!?" I shouted after realizing what the thing actually said. Sure enough, it seemed like Eggman decided to sue me. "What!?" Tails and Knuckles immediately turned to me, the game becoming irrelevant. "I-I.... I gotta go to court over what happened the other day! This is ridiculous...!" I wasn't exactly the government's favorite laid back hero... so I already knew they'd be happy to take me down over this. "Wow... you'll be ok though... We'll get a lawyer and stuff. It'll work out..." Tails tried to be optimistic. "Hopefully..." I knew they wanna throw Egghead behind bars, but they also wanted me to be fired from my heroics because I'm too 'uncontrollable and careless'. "Oh this can not be good..."
