Omniscient: A hot day in New Orleans was very normal for the locals. So when you see two girls walking from the corner store with bags in their hands, you know they just bought a Big Shot and some Hot fries.

Those exact two girls were now headed towards their best friend's house. As they walked down the street they could hear the sound of Juvenile's popular song back that a** up.

You could see boys running up and down the smooth pavement while sweat slowly dripped down their toned chests and backs. School had ended exactly 24 hours ago and the girls were ready to turn up.

"Now Gary knew he coulda gave me that small stick of gum for 25¢." Niecey stated in an aggravated tone.

Her accent was truly coming through, especially when she was either mad, aggravated, or just talking fast. "Girl you know Gary ain't got no ounce of happiness in all of his bones, didn't ole girl cheat on him though?" Lyric mentioned while walking beside her. Both girls started laughing, clapping their hands and being obnoxious.

The girls had been friends since Neicey and Diamond found Lyric crying in the bathroom, over her brand new Bratz doll that one of her classmates "Jacked".

Neicey and Diamond being older than Lyric by at least 1 ½ years, they always treated her like she was one of their own, trying to protect her from the road they went down..

After joking and talking about the old people sitting on their porch, they had finally reached the Iberville projects, walking on the dead grass they suddenly heard a loud boom of "Stick and Move" playing from a radio.

Being the nosey people they were, they quickly turned their heads towards the loud screech seeing an all black Cadillac pull up onto the concrete of the projects.

"Girl who is that?" Neicey questioned.

Shrugging, Lyrics jogged ahead towards the brick duplex with Niecey Distantly following behind. Knocking on the wood door, it opened to meet the 3rd of the trio. " Bout time y'all came, i'm hungry as hell" Diamond said while pulling Lyric inside.

"What was taking yall so long?"  Diamond asked while Lyric was stepping into the brick complex, Lyric was instantly met with the smell of cigarettes, and alcohol. "Yo mama drinking again?" Lyric asked, turning her head towards Neicey.  Nodding, she stuck her head through the crumbled up curtains, " Is this girl coming in this house or not?"

Lyric walked back towards the front door and yelled out, " CECE CMON WHATCHU WAITING OUTSIDE FO?" she yelled to Neicey. 1

Neicey suddenly jumped from the sound of her loud friend, and stepped out of the trance of watching two boys step out of the fancy black vehicle. "What is that type of car doing in this typa place" CeCe thought to herself but tore her gaze away when one of the boys turned their heads towards her way. With widened eyes she immediately started walking fast-paced towards the door.

Opening the front door she was met by Diamond and Lyric drinking from their chosen Big Shots. " Hey Dia" Neicy said while coughing from the smoke. CeCe had asthma since she was eight but it calmed down after she got older, meaning two years later. "If you wanna go back outside we can, you know if the smoke's too much for you," Dia said, opening a bag of chips. After taking it into consideration she shrugged it off and walked back towards the door with the two girls behind her.

"Did Tommy tell you her and Josh got back together?" Dia said, stepping down on the porch step.

Lyric and Neicey both rolled their eyes and a chorus of "yeah's" waved through the air.

After a while of talking they suddenly heard music start up from down the street.

"Girl I know good and well these n****s not having another party" said Diamond as she scrunched her face. Diamond lives across the street from this boy named Pootie, who is ALWAYS having parties. Ever since his mother died 3 years ago, he only lived with his sister. His dad on the other hand has been addicted to cocaine since he was seven. Her mom couldn't deal with him anymore, so she kicked him out. When his mother died of Breast Cancer it felt like the whole world stopped. He thought he didn't have anything to live for, but his mother always told him "Never turn out like ya daddy; a crackhead". So he thought "What's the quickest way for a n***a in the projects to get a large stack of cash?" Selling drugs, at least he couldn't OD off that. He started selling only weed then it progressed into hardcore drugs like molly, comethazine, and crack. Continuous parties were great for his business. Later on, he started selling with his friends and they now had their own business.

"Yall feel like checking it out?" Dia asked, pushing herself up from the brick steps. "I'm down, what about you Neicey?" Lyric asked. "It don't matter to me," Neicey mumbled.

The girls then gathered all their belongings, including chips, cold drinks, bags, and beepers. They walked down the street following the loud music, munching on chips, and bobbing their heads to the sound of 'Oh Boy' by Cam'ron. Walking onto the lawn of the Project house, they pushed sweaty jerking bodies away from them as they walked into the house.
