*Noah POV*

----------------------------------

Today my mother brought in another maiden from another distant land. I believe she was from Norway this time. She was nice and unlike some of her predecessors, had personality, but I turned her down nevertheless. Because my heart belongs to another, one who if I get my way, future historians will call my "Closest Friend."

"My Lord." My thoughts were interrupted as a maid, Sara, walks into the room.

"Yes, Sara?" I replied.

"Your presence is required by the Queen, she is in the throne room." Sara bowed and quickly left.

"Tha- oh."

I walked down the 3 flights of stairs past the library, which I would rather be in, and into the throne room. I watched as my mother turned around to face me, she dismissed the cook she was talking to and focused her attention on me.

"Noah. I would like to have a conversation with you." She faked a smile.

"Yes, mother? What would you like to talk about?" I only acted formally around her and some staff. It was unnatural for me. I'd much rather run around acting "Dastardly" in my mother's eyes.

"What is your type." She looked at me quizzically, as if she were meant to pierce through my soul.

"I don't follow, mother." I knew exactly what she was talking about. She wanted to know what kind of maidens I like so she could set me up to fall in love.

"Romantic type Darling, what do you look for in a person?"

"Well..." I said, "I like people who are sweet, loving, redheads, who love me genuinely. People who want to be with me, not for money nor status, but love. Someone who likes flowers and can tend to a garden, someone who gives me flowers and says 'I love you.'" I accidentally gave my mother too much. Now she'll find a red-headed girl who tends flowers and bring her to me.

"Perfect. Thank you, Darling. You are dismissed." She waved her hand, signaling that I could leave now. I walked toward the door, and as soon as I was out of sight, I ran up the three flights of stairs. I looked at my nook in the library and went back to my room. I picked up my lightest blanket and walked over.

I sat in my nook,

Reading a book,

Till I dozed off,

And dreamt of flowers and love.
