Chapter 14!

I have this story on my google drive. So I have a few more parts already written. I am posting this one and maybe another yet tonight. I have written up to Chapter 19 so far. So here yall go. Enjoy!!!

The next morning, I woke up and I was still in between mama and papa. I missed being next to daddy though. But I heard that we all might get to go home today! It just depends on how papa does. He said he can feel his feet again, but he just really wants to go home and be comfortable there. I started to move around a little and mommy woke up. "Good morning pumpkin." "Hi mama! Me has boobie?" "Of course baby girl, go ahead and get your morning milkies baby!" While I was drinking mama's milkies doctor robbins came in.

"Good morning, looks like someone is already having breakfast." I didn't care, I was super relaxed on my mommys boobie and papa next to me. I felt super safe. "Morning doctor robbins." "So we have some results from Abby's MRI. It turns out when she was in the first car accident when she was 4, she had a bit of a spinal cord injury. Abby, did you fall before your accidents started happening again? Or did someone hurt you?" "When I lived with the people before Miss Lou, the daddy hit me a lot. He spanked me with a belt a lot too. When he thought I was being bad. I tried to be a good girl, but he hit me anyway." I went right back to nursing. I hated having to relive the memories of the people who hurt me. I wanted to block it out of my head so bad! "I see sweetie, did you by chance fall or anything?" "Yea, I fell off a teeter totter too. I just membered. I was at school and someone said they would play on it with me. Then they got me in the air and got off it. So I fell really hard. Then that night is when i started waking up wet." "Perfect, go ahead and go back to getting milk while I talk to your big people. So guys, it looks like Abby had a minor spinal injury from the first accident that went unnoticed. So when she fell off the teeter totter, she injured it again. That's where the accidents started. Then the accident you were in the other day caused it to injure her sphincter nerves. So she loss control of her bowels. There is a surgery that may fix her bowel control, but if she is going to be in diapers, I wouldn't worry about putting her through a surgery that she can live without. In the case that she wants to try to learn to use the bathroom again, then we can discuss it." "So you're telling us, that she has no control anymore? She may need diapers forever?" "Yes Paul, thats what im saying. We can do a colostomy procedure to where she has a bag on the outside of her body, but that is up to you guys. We can talk about that later on down the road when she is ready. It seems like right now you guys are doing the best for her. She seems super happy with you all. She doesn't seem to want to talk about the past." "Yea, we have gotten that too. We aren't going to push it. If she wants to talk to us, we will listen and hold her. But if she just wants to be treated like she has been ours sense that night that the accident happened, then thats exactly what we will do." "I love the way you think Sam. So has any doctors talked about when you guys will be able to go home?" "Well they said if we can get someone other than Lindsey to take care of Sam full time until he can walk then we can leave today. So we are working on that one. But as of this moment we just woke up and need to get that worked out." "So if you all are getting discharged, I would feel comfortable with sending Abby home too. Lindsey seems more than capable of caring for Abby. So just have me paiged if you get sent home sound good?" "Thanks doctor Robbins. And thanks for getting this figured out for Abby. I think having this knowledge she will appreciate it. We all do!" "It was no problem at all guys!"

Doctor robbins left then mama, papa and daddy started talking. I was still nursing a little, but mostly just staying latched to mama for comfort at this point. I think mommy knew i was still awake, but she didn't care. "So guys, I think we should call Sammie, Anna and Bill and see what they think about staying with us for a little bit until we can get back to work. At least until Sam can walk again." "Really babe, my parents and little sister?" "Well babe, do you have any better ideas? I want out of this place. This bed is nice, but its super hard to sleep all 4 of us. And i personally think it would do all of us some good to be at home." "Yea, true. Ok fine. But your asking." "Scared much?" "Not really, but its going to be weird having my parents and little sister in our house. Helping with showers and what not." "Well yea, I can help you with a shower babe. I can do some, but not all of it. Thats why they want someone to come help us." "Ok lets call."

So mama called TT. "Hey Linds, hows it goin?" "Not horrible i guess. Got a baby attached to the boob." She pointed the ipad down at me. I was just suckeling away. "Hey can you grab mom and dad, we need to talk to all of you." "Sure hold on." So TT walked around to find mimi and pop pop. "Ok we're all here, whats up?" "Well, we got told we can all go home today under one condition. We need someone to stay with us to help us. They said with Sam not being able to walk yet and Paulie and Abby in casts that they don't feel comfortable sending them all home with just me in the house. So we were wondering if you guys would come stay with us until they give the all clear for us to be on our own again." "So we would need to stay there round the clock?" "I don't think all of you would need to be there around the clock, but someone would need to be with us at all times. Just so they know we are ok." "Ok we're in! How are you guys getting home? Should Sammie come get you?" "Yea mom, that would be wonderful. I think Abby would love to see her TT today, wouldn't you baby?" Mama pointed the ipad at me and i just shook my head. I unlatched for a second. "Yes me wanna see TT! Me loves TT." "Awe look at my little pumpkin. TT will come for you baby! Promise. Ill be there in about an hour or so ok?" I shook my head again and continued to stay on mommys boobie. "Looks like someone doesn't want to get off the boobie today." "I know shes been there sense she opened her eyes about an hour ago. Its ok, mama doesn't mind giving her baby milkies. But she is going to have to let go so i can go let the doctors know that TT, Mimi and pop pop are going to be staying with us for a while. So we can go home to our nice comfy house!" I unlatched and looked at my mama "Mama, me go home? Me want go home! Me want big bed and snuggles with daddy! And my books! Papa read me stories!!!" "Well that got her off the boob for a little bit. Alright Sammie, we will see you in a little bit. Im going to try to be ready when you get here. Ok?" "Sounds good I will see you in a bit. Bye!" "BYE TT!!!!" "Bye baby! Tt will see you soon!" Mama hung up the phone and put me closer to papa. "Papa when we get home, you snuggle me in chair and read me story?" "You bet I will baby girl. Papa loves reading to his girl."

Mama went out to the nurses station and told them that we had daddy's parents and sister to stay with us when we left so we were ready to be discharged. Mama came back and started to pick up the room. She started to put things away and pack up.

About an hour later TT got there. "TT!!!!!" "Hey baby! Hows my girl?" "I otay TT. Mommy's milkies make the ouchies stop. And hers been giving me yummy medicine." "Oh i see. Have you been helping mama keep daddy and papa in line?" "Mmmhhhhmmm. Me loves papas snuggles. But me miss my big house and my big comfy chair. Its better for snuggles." "Well sweetie we are going home just as soon as we can ok?" "Yup me ready! Me cant wait to sleep in the big bed tonight. Sorry papa, but me wanna seep next to daddy tonight!" "Thats ok baby girl, papa would love to snuggle mama tonight. But you bet ill get my baby girl snuggles too." "So are you guys ready to go?" "Almost we are waiting on Dr. Sheppard to discharge Sam, then we are good to go. Dr Torres discharged Paulie, and Dr. Robbins discharged Abby. So just Sam left." Just then the door opened. It was another doctor. "Speaking of doctor sheppard." "Hey everyone. I see that you have help here to get you home. Do you have someone staying with you?" "Hey doc, this is Paul's sister Sam. She and her parents will be staying with us until we can get back on our feet, literally." "Ok Sam, then i officially am discharging you! Rest! You can hold your baby girl, but no lifting. Have someone hand her to you. Sitting up is fine too, but lay down as much as you can. Did you call physical therapy?" "Yea, they are supposed to call back monday." "Perfect. Take your husband, your wife and your baby and get the heck out of here. Ill see you in a month to follow up." "Thanks doc." "Have a good one." "Looks like as soon as we get these IV's out we are all set!

Miss Jessica came in a few minutes later with 3 yellow envelopes for mama. She took out me daddy and papa's IV's. "Well it was nice taking care of all of you! But now go home and rest!" "Thanks miss Jessica. Me ready to go home to my big bed!" "I bet you are sweetie!"

Mama and TT took all of our stuff down to TT's van. Then Nurse Jessica, Mommy and TT took me, daddy and papa down in wheel chairs. When I got in the van I started to freak out!!! I think mama had a feeling it may happen. She immediately climbed in and offered me her boobie to calm down. It helped a little, but i was still scared. Papa sat on the other side of me, so instead of having mamas boobie, I snuggled up to papa. Sense it wasn't a long time in the hospital, I didn't have a carseat yet. So i snuggled super close to papa and listened to his heart. He gave me a binki and it helped a lot. I must have fallen asleep because the next thing i knew we were home!!!
