She had never really given much thought to how her life would end — though she'd definitely had more than enough reason in the last few months — but even if she had, there is no doubt in her mind that she would've ever imagined it like this.
Surely it was a good way to die. Certainly not because it was suicide, but because she would be doing it for someone she loves. Fulfilling their wish to keep them happy. That has to count for something.
She knew that if she had stayed in California with her mother, none of this would've happened, but depressed as she was, she couldn't bring herself to regret that decision one bit.
Meeting them has been one of the best things that have ever happened to her, even if they'll be the reason her life ends.
Without another thought, she smiles down at the water below her as she takes a deep breath.
She's ready.
