We were working on the decryption and it was almost done when we got busted.
"Starks, what are you doing?" Fury questioned storming into the lab.
"Uh, kind of been wondering the same thing about you." Dad retorted. I rolled my eyes at my Dad which only annoyed Fury further.
"You're supposed to be locating the tesseract." Fury rebuffed
"We are. The Models locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit we will have the location within half a mile." Banner added
"Yeah, so we got bored. When we're bored we're snoopy. But don't worry you'll get it back, no muss, no fuss." I continued
"What is phase 2?" Dad wondered There was a clash. Rogers was back and with a gun.
"Phase 2 is shield uses the cube to make weapons. Sorry, computers was moving a little slow for me." Okay now I was seeing a little of what Grandpa wrote about in his journals. He was badass. not like us but in his own way.
"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the tesseract, this does not mean..." Fury tried to cover but Dad interrupted.
"I'm sorry, Nick. What were you lying?" Dad showed off the schematics for a bomb
"Not cool, dude." I jumped down. Natasha and Thor arrived, what were they doing here? Thor took my hand and pulled me away from Banner who had come round the work bench.
"Did you know about this?" Banner asked Natasha.
"You wanna think removing yourself from this environment, doctor?" Natasha replied. Did she really think he was gonna freak out.
"I was in Calcutta. I was pretty well removed." he retorted. Thor took a protective stance.
"Loki, is manipulating you." Natasha added
"And you've been doing what exactly?"
"You didn't come here because I batted my eyelashes at you." Natasha retorted
"Yeah and I'm not gonna leave because suddenly you're getting twitchy. I'd like to know why shield is using the tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction?" Banner sassed
"Because of him." Fury pointed at Thor. Ah now that makes sense god ol' human race. We have to be powerful than the other guy.
"Me?" Thor wondered
"Last year earth had a visitor from another planet, who had a grudge match that levelled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned." he explained
"My people want nothing but peace with your people." Thor assured. I knew he felt offended by the remark.
"But you're not the only people out there, are you? And you're not the only threat. The world is filling up with people who can't be matched, that can't be controlled." Fury continued
"Like you controlled the cube." Rogers snarked
"Your work with the tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is a signal to all the realms that Earth is ready for a higher form of war." Thor retorted
"A higher form?" Rogers wondered
"You forced our hand, we had to come up with something." Fury rebuffed
"A nuclear deterrent? 'Cause that always calms everything right down." I sassed folding my arms.
"Remind me again how your family made it's fortune?" Fury retorted
