That same night, the two stayed up. Spending almost every minute together.

"Tim" Shinoa started,

"Hmm?" He responded, a little drowsy as the clock stroke 4.

"Would you... play for me again?" She asked, a little hopeful considering that the boy would soon be taken away

"Of course." He replied, an ever so delicate smile gracing his face.

He led her to the dusty music room, no one would occupy it since the only instruments inside were an old violin and a much older piano.

Scattered throughout were books that lay in stacks, with topics such as music theory, chords, notes, and anything you could need to learn the instruments

It was like any other day. Where Timothy would play a certain song for his favorite sibling. though it always seemed that it was missing an extra 'oomph' to it

Therein Shinoa would hum a second voice, blending gracefully with the resonance.

their siblings either adore or envy the relationship between the two, it was said that Shinoa would only open up to two people:

Isabella and Timothy.

Timothy hadn't known why the girl looked up to him so much, but he didn't mind it at all. He was even delighted to teach her piano

His playing was beautiful, so exquisite, and full of meaning.

But the very fact that this was the last time she'd ever hear him play, it wasn't easy. The young girl had fought to push away the intrusive thoughts just so that she could hear the serenity in his playing

And as the melody transitioned to a gentle touch, she whispered: "I wish you could stay."

He smiled, "Me too."

"Though I must admit, there is nothing I can do." And the other thought the same.

There were many more words she wanted to tell, but something told her to hold it in. She hated the feeling of being unable to do anything.

Timothy continued to play; Shinoa went to her room and took a pad of paper, then she returned and settled down on the floor, writing away.

And 4:00 had turned into 5:00, and five had turned into six.

Seeing as there were 3 separate papers, young Shinoa had labeled them by number, then took an envelope and placed them inside.

Even with knowing that the odds were against her, there was that one touch of hope that he might read the entirety of her letter.

Even though, she hoped for him to survive.

"Hey, why don't we write a letter for each other," Shinoa said quietly, hoping that Timothy wouldn't think of it badly

He gently lifts his hands off the keys, "Sure."
