chapter 1 ~ accidental run ins

The sun shone through the curtains and into my eyes. I groaned and turned on my side to grab my phone looking at the time. I grimaced realising the time, throwing my phone down, I jumped out of bed frantic to get ready. I slept through all my alarms and woke up late for my first day at my new job. I didn't have time to make myself look presentable but didn't care, my first impression wasn't going to be good with me being late already. I quickly put my hair in a bun once I was dressed and glanced at myself in the mirror. This will do for today, i can't afford to be anymore late than I already am. Grabbing my bag I headed for the door and ran into the street while looking at my phone checking for bus times. Being as careless as I was I had accidentally bumped into someone. "I am so sorry" I said before rushing off to the nearest bus stop. I didn't look back to even see who I ran into or even hear their response.

The bus came and I scanned my bus card and plumping myself in a seat, looking at the time again I groaned and wished the bus would just move faster than it was. "Nice going Kelsey" I said to myself.

What seemed like forever I finally arrived at my destination. I got off the bus running to a big building with the BIGHIT sign plastered on the front of the building. I took a big breathe in before entering the front door. I was welcomed by a warm smile of a woman. "Hello, you must be Kelsey, the CEO is expecting you" I smiled and nodded " I'm so sorry about being late, usually I'm not tardy.. or messy" I said apologetically looking down at myself. She waved her hand in dismissal, "oh darling it's fine these things happen" she said warmly before telling me to follow her down a hallway. Walking down the hallway I saw empty dance rooms and empty recording studios through small windows on the doors. She eventually led me into a big office with a middle aged man sitting behind his desk. "Oh Kelsey yes? Usually the new staff are early or ATLEAST on time" he said looking at me through his big framed glasses. "Oh come on mr Young, be easy on her. It is just her first day. I am sure it won't happen again" she said looking at me. "Oh yeah it definitely won't happen again I'm so sorry" i said bowing my head down embarrassed. "I would hope not, thank you Emily you can leave" the lady bowed her head and gave me a comforting pat on the back for encouragement before taking her leave. "Please miss Kim sit down" he said motioning to the chair infront of the desk. I quickly made my way to the chair carefully sitting down. "So I'm sure you've read the contract I've emailed you, you will be managing one of my groups, Bangtan boys also known as BTS" he said. I nodded my head, "yes I've also read over what's required of me and the job description" I replied. He smiled and stood up. "Alright well we'll just go ahead and make introductions then shall we?" He said and motioned toward the door. I got up and followed him out the door eager to meet the boys I'll be working with.

Music was blasting from one of the dance rooms that was empty when I walked down the hallway before, every step closer to that door made me feel nervous. Negative thoughts were pacing through my mind, what if they didn't like me? What will their fans say about a women managing them? Will the company receive backlash for allowing a female near a popular group like them? I was forced out of my thoughts when we got to the door and the ceo opened the door beholding the seven boys. They all stopped and turned to us, a tall man made his way towards the sound system turning the music off. " hello boys, sorry to interrupt but I wanted to personally introduce you to your new manager miss Kim" he said motioning to me. I bowed "please, call me Kelsey" I said smiling brightly. The boys all bowed they all individually introduced themselves as if I didn't already know who they were. They were so humble for a boy group who are so well known globally. "Alright well I suppose I will leave you guys to it, I assume you know the next steps regarding the group?" The ceo said. I nodded and smiled.

He left us in the room and I walked closer to the group. "Um I'm sorry, this is my first time managing a group, but uh I'll formally introduce myself. My names Kelsey Kim, I'm twenty years old and I'll be managing you guys and your schedules. Let's work well together" the boys smiled. One looked at me, squinting his eyes. "You look very familiar" he said before pointing at me with eyes wide open. "You're the lady who ran into me this morning!" He yelled. In confusion I said "what?" "You bumped into me and said sorry to me and ran up the road" he said. His band mates looked at him confused then back to me. "Oh... that was you? That's one hell of a coincidence huh" I chuckled awkwardly. He looked at me blankly. "You made me spill my coffee on myself" I gasped and immediately started apologising. "Kookie I'm sure she didn't mean it, you don't have to make her feel bad" "Namjoon Hyung she didn't even wait or even stop to realise" Jungkook retorted. "It's okay, look atleast she said sorry properly this time" "yeah I guess you're right hyung" I fondled with my fingers and smiled awkwardly, "alright well Um I have to sort out your schedule for the next week so uh ill be in the corner there if you need anything" I said before pointing to a desk in the corner next to the sound system. The boys watched me move across the room. "Would you mind pressing play on the music? We have to practice for our comeback" "uh yeah sure, it's Jin right?" "Yeah my names Jin" I smiled and pressed play. They continued to practice while I pulled my laptop out, placing it on the desk beginning to sort out the work schedule for the boys. I glanced up and looked at the boys practicing wishing I wasn't so reckless and bumping into Jungkook. Great now I was late AND I knocked Jungkooks coffee all over him and I didn't even know! From time to time I would catch the eyes of Jungkook looking over at me through the mirror and I was for sure thinking he was judging my appearance. I chose to ignore this and continue to plan the weeks coming up for their comeback.
