Chapter 2 ~ miscommunication

It was five o'clock in the afternoon before I realised it was time to leave work. I looked at my computer and gasped. At this point the boys had done practicing for the day and were exhausted from dancing all day so they were all sprawled out on the floor. "What's wrong?" Suga asked glancing at me. I looked up "uh nothing I just saw the time, didn't realise how long I've been building your schedule for" I replied with a gentle smile. Jungkook beside Jimin snickered. "You owe me a new shirt and a coffee tomorrow" he said before continuing to lay on his back playing games on his phone. I frowned and kept quiet, "he's still upset about that hm" Jin looked at me "of course he's still upset, it was his favourite shirt" he chuckled. My eyes caught Jungkooks "don't worry I'll make it up to you" I said gently before saving my work and closing my laptop. I stretched my arms and got up packing my laptop away into my bag. "Leaving already?" Taehyung asked. "Yeah I've gotta get home before it gets too dark" I replied. "You should join us for dinner, I mean it's only right as our manager we treat you dinner, I mean we can all get to know you a little better" Jin suggested. I looked over and hesitated, "uh sure yeah why not" I smiled. Namjoon smiled and got up "alright we'll let's get ready to go eat then" the boys all got up and started packing their things before heading to the door. I followed closely behind Jungkook who was the last one to leave.

"So Kelsey, why did you apply to be our manager?" Jimin asked shoving food into his mouth. "Welllll I didn't actually know it was gonna be for you guys, it didn't really say that on the application aha" I said. "That's fair enough, well you do know who we are tho right?" Namjoon aksed. "Yeah of course I knew, I'm a fan of your work. You guys are so talented" I said while sipping on my drink. "If you did know who we were surely you would have recognised me when you bumped into me" Jungkook chuckled. I looked up at him and sat back in my chair and sighed. "Okay, you and me need to talk" I said looking at him, I got up and had gone outside, Jungkook looked at his hyungs in confusion and followed me out. "Yes?" I turned around and took a deep breathe in, "look I'm sorry about earlier today, I really did not mean to bump into you it was an honest mistake" I mumbled. He looked me in the eye and held eye contact. I started getting nervous and broke eye contact looking at me feet. I heard him chuckle before standing next to me and nudging my shoulder with his and looking at my face. I looked to my side at him and furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "I was just joking, it was never supposed to make you think I was being mean to you" he said looking forward. I sighed. " oh... I guess it was miscommunication then huh aha" I said as I relaxed my body knowing it wasn't a big deal now. "Did you honestly think I was mad at you because of that?" He questioned now looking at me again. I shrugged " well yeah obviously, that's why I dragged you out here" I stated awkwardly. He laughed "no I was never mad at you, just wanted to mess with you abit" I looked up at him, playfully punching his shoulder " that's not very nice considering it's my first day" I laughed. He held his arm jokingly rubbing it " that hurt, now you definitely owe me" he said jokingly.

We both walked back inside the restaurant sitting down at our seats. The members looked between me and Jungkook for an explanation. "It was uh misunderstanding" Jungkook said smiling at me. The boys all sighed in relief and laughed it off "damn we thought you guys fought" Taehyung joked. "Oh we did" I said blankly. The table went quiet and me and Jungkook burst out laughing at the members reactions. "You guys are very gullible, you know that?" I laughed. The boys broke out in laughter too relieved it was nothing serious.

The boys paid for the meal and we all made our way outside. "Well, I'll see you guys tomorrow" I said waving goodbye to them. "Yes you will, maybe be on time this time Kels?" Namjoon joked. I nudged him and chuckled. "We don't mention that okay" "we will always remember that don't worry" Suga said smiling. " you shouldn't walk home alone Kelsey it's not safe at night, Kookie will walk you to the bus stop and wait with you" Jin said. My eyes opened wide, "no no it's fine really I'll be fine" "no I'll walk you they're right it's not safe for you" Jungkook said "let's go" he grabbed my upper arm and dragged me along side him. "Uh oh okay bye guys" I said turning my head and waving goodbye with my free arm. "You can let go of my arm now Kookie" he let go of my arm and chuckled awkwardly. "Sorry" he mumbled. We walked in silence for five minutes before I started thinking it was becoming awkward. " so Um how old are you if you don't mind me asking" " i thought you were a big fan of ours?" Kookie joked. "No i said I'm a fan of your work, meaning I like your music, I don't actually know a lot about you guys believe it or not" "I'm twenty four" "oh your four years older than me haha" he smiled at me. "Yeah, so you can call me oppa" he said and winked at me. I cringed and looked at him weirdly. "I'm joking, relax".

We reached the bus stop where the bus came after 5 minutes of more silence. "Well uh thank you for walking me here, you really didn't have to" "yes I did have to, like my hyungs said, it's not safe for you to walk alone at night" he replied. I gave him a small smile. "Alright well thanks anyway, I'll see you tomorrow then" I said before getting on the bus. He waved goodbye to me as the bus drove away. I heaved a big sigh. "You made it through the day Kelsey. You got this" I told myself.
