((Sorry the chapter is so short lol. I promise next chapter will be a bit longer))

The trek to the forest was shorter than I had imagined. It seemed that Camilo had thought the same.

"You know, when you said you knew a secret way into the woods," Camilo sighs, "I was thinking we would have to fight off dragons, or bears, or maybe the occasional squirrel. I didn't think that we would be walking in a straight path to nothing."

I look ahead to the countless trees in front of me. We had been walking for about 15 minutes, going in and out of huge logs and hiding behind trees. Not exactly the super scary trek that heroes in books went on. Little did I know, that was all about to change.

"Drum roll please!" Logan exclaims. When we all looked at him like he was out of his mind, rolled his eyes and said, "Welcome! To Thundering Wilds!" He makes it sound like there is a stadium cheering. My friends and I continue to look at him like he's insane, but Camilo has an odd look on his face.

"Camilo? What's up?" I ask.

"It's nothing." He mutters, looking around.

"Puh-lease." Laurel says. "You know something. What is it?"

"It's just..." Camilo starts. "I've heard legends about this place."

Logan begins to snicker. "Legends?" He snorts. "You're afraid of some old legends? That's pathetic! What do you think's gonna happen? A basilisk is going to slither out and eat us?"

Camilo rolls his eyes. "More like a Thunder Dragon. It's called 'Thundering Wilds' for a reason." Camilo explains. "My grandmother told my entire family the legend. It's been passed through my family for generations. Apparently we used to live here." He looks up to the woods. "Well, not here, but around here. And the entire village had a militia just for protecting the village from the Thunder Dragon. It was huge, had sharp teeth, and when it hit the ground, it began to thunder."

"Yeah, right." Logan scoffs.

"Guys, quit it. Let's just get into the forest and find somewhere to camp and call our parents." Laurel says.

"I agree with Laurel. Let's go." I add.
