Beau Garnier typically spent l'étude trying to convince one René de Grantaine that studying was in fact very important and that no, he couldn't simply cram and somehow be able to remember everything for their exams. And oftentimes, his attempts were futile.

"René, as much as I respect you as a person, your studious abilities are close to nothing," Beau groaned as he shoved a paper across the table that detailed everything that René had gotten wrong. The blond boy across from him could be described as a bouncing ball by the way he bounced in his chair, "I'll be able to play the piano later so what's the point of learning something I'll never use anyways? I'll always be able to play the piano and make people happy, never with this."

"Yes, however, you certainly won't have anyone hire you if you speak like an idiot and think like one as well. Kindly study your French grammar, it's atrocious.

The comment sent René to a corner, paper in hand along with French muttering as he revised. Beau thought his classmate must've been some sort of idiot.

-

Two years later, as he adjusted his tie to his uniform and made his way to his new homeroom, Beau still looked back and thought of the little blond boy as an idiot. He didn't know why he cared for a classmate that only spoke to him in class and nothing more, maybe it was the fresh personality? Even then, it had saddened him when the little blond boy had told him he was leaving France.

"When are you leaving, René?" he had asked that day. "Tomorrow," the reply. And nothing more. Beau had taken even harder into his studies after that.

A soft knock on the door announced his arrival and he was greeted with a woman black hair and rich, brown eyes. She gave him a small smile, "you must be Beau Garnier." German, he had denoted, by the way her accent clipped slightly. He had forgotten momentarily that he needed to respond in Japanese out of lack in familiarity, "oui. Cest un plaisir de vous- ah pardon me, yes, a pleasure to meet you. My apologies, I'm still learning." She simply waved him off saying he wasn't at fault, "come, it's time to greet your classmates."

He followed obediently and was greeted with the sight of his new peers once he was standing in front of the board. His eyes glazed over the group, noting faces and a particular set of violet eyes that seemed so familiar. It almost made him laugh at the irony. Of all odds, he'd meet that idiot little boy here after two years.

"Now class, I'd like you to meet a new member of your class today. If you would, Garnier-san," the teacher gave the spotlight to him. Beau recalled proper etiquette and supplied a bow, "good morning, everyone. My name is Beau Garnier, I hope to get along with everyone." Surely that was polite, he silently hoped as he stood from his bow. He glanced around again, looking to see anyone he knew from business gatherings. He was, after all, simply here to make connections. He knew the brunette in the back whose father owned a vehicle manufactory in not only Japan but France, England, and India as well as the black haired girl whose mother was the star of an opera that always showed in Australia every year. It was something at the very least.

And his day continued just like that. He spoke among his classmates and made connections, studied hard, and tried his best to avoid the stupid blond boy that tried his best to speak with him. However, his attempt ended futile as he was cornered in the third library at a dead end with only books as his salvation. Beau braced himself as he seen the blond hair pop around the corner, "fancy seeing you here, Mister Suoh." The name still foreign on his tongue as he was still used to de Grantaine.

"You're here? I mean, why are you a student here?" he had the audacity to be surprised. Beau fixed him with a look, "honestly, Mister Suoh, almost every student here is because of business. What more could it be?" Suoh looked at him as if he'd grown another head. Was he that pure? Or simply stupid as per previous notes?

Beau gave him a pleasant smile, and edged around him, "if you'll excuse me." He heard bits of "hey!" and "wait a moment!" but he was too far away and far too irritated to care.

-

It was five days later when Suoh managed to corner him once more, however this time it was around other people that were all to eager to listen in to the conversation between the president of a popular club and the transfer student that always laps back into furious French whenever he though no one was looking, they were.

Suoh bounced over to him and Beau sighed as he pushed back his short, wavy hair. "How are you this fine morning, Mister Suoh?" he stayed polite as he always did. Suoh smiled, "I've come to the decision!" Beau looked at him warily, "should I be concerned with that statement?"

"You should join the Host Club!"

"Have you mistaken me for a hoseur, Mister Suoh?" Beau blurted, completely unaware as to what the host club was but could only assert it with something along the line of play pretend. He wasn't an exhibitionist, he'd much rather work in the background if anything.

Twin wheezes caught his attention as he looked past the stone statue of his peer. It was a pair of ginger twins that seemed to be a year younger. The two lumbered over and draped themselves over the Suoh heir.

"Nice one! We'd say that probably the fastest someone's knocked him in a single conversation," the one on the left grinned, hair parted to the right. The other mimicked his brother's look with a laugh, "you must be extra special to the boss!"

"Consider us former classmates when we were younger. However, I don't believe I've made your acquaintance. Beau Garnier, pleased to meet you," he supplied a polite bow before hew was pulled up and latched onto by a pair of matching teenagers. "Now, now," one said. "No need for that, we know who you are, Garnier, son of the one and only Ines Garnier."

Beau seen some of the eavesdroppers perk up at the name. It was an absolute shameless plug that he wanted to get to know the twins more because of the simple fact. His lip quirked up, "funny, you know me but I haven't the faintest for you. Care to enlighten me?" They were all too happy to oblige, much to Beau's glee.

"Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin at your service," they gave a dramatic bow. It was like a light bulb went off in Beau's head. "Ah Hitachiin! Excuse my ignorance, it's been quite a while since we've last met." They waved him off, excusing his forgetfulness.

Suoh took that moment to pop into the conversation, "you know each other?" Beau graced him with a response, "there was a fashion meet in Bordeaux four years ago, I met them then." Suoh adopted a look of recognition, "was that when you left class for a week to go 'out of town' so to speak?"

Beau looked at him in surprise, "Oui, Mister Suoh, I'm surprised you remember." The twins looked between the two, "you said former classmates, so you grew up together?" Suoh glanced at him and said, "sort of."

"We only spoke at school, however, starting from le collège—" Beau looked towards Suoh, suddenly remembering something, "I sincerely hope your studying has improved. I won't be helping you this time." Suoh looked rightfully offended with his past being given so nonchalantly in front of the pair of twins that would drag it through the ground and then some.

It was then that the pair of twins adopted Beau into their hold, much to Suoh's misfortune.

l'étude - like a study period I'm assuming (correct if wrong please)

Oui - yes

le collège - middle school

A/N: hey everyone, sorry for such an extremely long wait time, it's hard to type with a strained wrist as well as work and school but we're here now it's fine

Anyways, this'll probably be OOC because I've not read the manga or watched the anime in years, so I'm just going with it. (I'm well aware the twins are acting like the Weasley twins, I might fix it, or not, either way)

Also, this will be more business, rich family inclined, making alliances and business partners. I've not written detailed stories in a long time so this might be a little rough around the edges for now.

For now I'm relying on reader response (constructive criticism mind you, nothing else) on how I should go forward.

Happy reading and I hope to have a new chapter out soon!
