Promises you couldn't keep (Dream SMP)

A Nightmare

Tommy woke up to a scream.

He'd been having a nightmare about Dream finding him and taking him away from Technoblade. The scream had woken him up while Dream was beating him, just before he slipped into the dark pit of death.

Tommy kept hearing the scream while Techno came out of his room. "Tommy!" Techno cried, running to Tommy. "Hey, hey what's wrong?"

Tommy realized he was the one screaming. He immediately snapped his mouth shut and took a shuddering breath. "Hey. Hey. It's okay." Techno bent down and rubbed Tommy's arms. "It's okay. It was just a nightmare. You're safe. Do you remember what happened?"

Tommy started to cry. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'll be quiet. I promise."

"Tommy, I'm not mad. I'm worried about you. You barely ate even though you're obviously hungry, now you can't sleep. What's going on?"

"I'm scared!" Tommy sobbed. "Dream h-hurt me. I never want to go back there again. But I put you in danger if I stay here."

"Woah." Techno put his hands up. "Tommy, calm. It's okay. You'll be alright. You're safe. He can't hurt you anymore. Dream doesn't even know where I live. You're safe."

"I-It's not that hard to find you." Tommy stuttered. "Technoblade isn't a usual name. I'm sorry for waking you up."

"Tommy, it's okay. We'll talk about it in the morning." Techno swept Tommy's hair out of his face. "We'll talk about it in the morning. I'm not mad, I just want to know what happened."

Tommy's eyes widened. "Wait!" he said. "I have to grab something." He ran over to his pack and pulled out his stuffed bee. He couldn't believe he'd forgotten! Techno smiled. "Are you okay now?"

"Y-yeah." Tommy stuttered. "Thank you big man."

Techno smiled and remembered an old nickname he used to call Tommy. "Good night, Theseus." he said.
