It Was Just A Small Crush

"I'm headed to class, where else am I gonna go?" I answered sarcastically  .

"I'm Ivy by the way you seem like you were in a tuff spot back there"

"Yeah I was, My name is Yara Jun by the way" I say

" Oh cool cool, are you a freshman too?" she screams in excitement!

"Yes I am, but I really need to find a way to Mr. Milam class so I got to go."

"Oh okay see you around then by the way his class is straight ahead not back here" Ivy announced.

"Thank you so much" I say while walking away from her.

I'm at least 15 mins late to his class.

How are you late on the first day? I think to myself.

So much is happening I can't wait for this day to be over. I have bad blood with people I don't even know. For the rest of the day I'm going to mind my business and just get to class.

I finally got to Mr.Milam's class at least 20 minutes late to his class. I walk in slowly before I can even walk in. Everyone is looking at the door and Mr.Milam looks confused.

"Why are you just coming into my class?" Mr.Milam questioned me

"I couldn't find my way to class, I'm sorry" I responded.

Hopefully he will give me the benefit of the doubt and let me slide just this once.

"I need you to go get a tardy pass from the front office"

There's no way he just said that it's only the first day why do I need to go all the way to the office.

"But it's the first and I just couldn't find my way here. You can't cut me some slack?" I say with impudence.

"No go get a pass"

"By the time I get back this class will almost be over. What's the point?" I state before walking out of the door.

You know what, I'm just not going to come back. Now I'm standing in the hallway and I see Alex, he looks like he is waiting on someone.

Should I go talk to him or not? I mean why not there's no one here

"Hey?" I say

"Oh Hey" He says

Why does he look so sad, oh it must be because of what happened earlier. Then I see a tall boy heading our way, tall but not taller than Alex.

"I got to go, I'll catch up with you later" Alex says while walking away to his friend.

"Okay bye see you around."

Now I'm just standing in the hallway looking like a total idiot. Then I see Ivy walking out of Mr. Peep class. Why is everyone I met this morning popping up?

"Hi!" she screams all the way on the other side of the hallway.

How come she's so hyper this morning, where does she get all her energy? I think to myself.

"Hi girl" I say

"What's up with you, you seem lost?" Ivy asks

"Mr.Milam told me I had to go get a tardy after being 20 minutes late."

"Did you explain why you were late?"

"Of course I did, he still made me go back but I didn't go get one, so I basically skipped the last 20 minutes we had in there" I explain.

'On the first day Whew child,sounds like a lot...We should do something fun after school to clear your head."

Well I could use a few hours with a friend to chill with so there's no harm.

"Sure we can go after school i'll tell my mom i'll take the bus home"

"Want to get our nails done,?" Ivy askes.

"Yes I am in need of a redo sis" I say

After school, Ivy and I met in the front of the school. I feel eyes all on me again. But I just keep walking while we walk 20 mins to the nearest Nail Salon called "Cj Nails".

I already called my mom to let her know what I was doing. She offered to pick me up from the nail salon. I said I'll just take the bus. 

"Wanna get matching nails!" Ivy askes in pure excitement .

"Actually we should, what color do you want to do" I ask.

"Pink!" she answers with a squeal.

I realize how pretty Ivy is while we are walking. She has red locs, and brown skin with bright brown eyes and she's just a little bit shorter than me so she's 5'4.

"Okay cool wanna get pink with hearts on the middle finger" I ask again adding a slight squeal

"Of course, coffin shape?" Ivy askes

"Yes, oh this is going to be so cute!"

We finally got to Cj nails after walking what felt like an hour but I'm not complaining.We both explained the design we wanted and we sat next to each other while getting our feet done.

Before I knew it my mouth slips and asks a question about Alex Walton, "Do you know anything about Alex Walton?"

"Girl of course he's one of the popular sophomores who hangs out with seniors because of his brother Booker Walton!" She answered quickly.

"Damn you sure it's your first day here, how do you know all that?" I questioned

"Resources sis." she replied.

After the small talk we move on to the tables to get our nails done after 40 mins we are done.

"This is so cute we have to take pictures!" Ivy cheered.

"Yes I'll find an outfit to match the nails!" I chimed in.

"This was so fun let's do more stuff like this together!" I say.

Then I get a text from my mom saying to come home.

"Okay we can, give me your number" she says

"Okay, after this I have to go my mom is wanting me to come home" I say

But one more question, "What's up with Alex and his Girlfriend?" I asked before heading towards the door.

"I don't know, are you planning to steal him away from Bianca? " She says jokingly.

"Bianca huh, maybe I will" I say seriously  heading towards the door saying bye to Ivy.
