CHAPTER 1 - Curiousity of Cuteness

A lucky, smart and pretty lady like me has just passed the year's Chunin examination. The name's Ashya Nightwayne. You may wonder why my lastname is not Japanese. Well, my mother was married to my foreign father who came from United States. Mother died when I was a baby. It was up to Dad now to take the whole responsibilities in raising me up. We moved in to Konoha right when i turned 10yrs old. Why? This is where my mother was born. I want to become a great ninja like her, and so dad encouraged and supported me to reach my dreams here in Konoha. Here I am, who just became a Chunin ninja! Thus, I got to be a certified Medical ninja as well. The training took almost 3yrs to master along with some friends under the challenging hands of Lady Tsunade. Sakura Haruno encouraged me to join in as soon as she heard about my mother being one of the expert medical ninjas in the previous generation. Mom sure had some history with the new Hokage..

It was a glorious day when the results came out and I was excited to give my father the great news. Dad was just an ordinary man, he works at our own Market now. Our market is known as the Supermarket that has everything everyone needs! "Dad! I passed the test!" I exclaimed as I went inside. He was at the cashier's counter reading a newspaper. He smiled in delight. "That's great! I knew you could do it! Now, you can do more adventerous quests this time. Keep up the good work, Ash." His embrace grew warmth in my heart, it was a wonderful feeling. The celebration of my success took place at Ichiraku Ramen that day. Sakura and Ino were there too. We had the best dishes that was ever cooked,they had gained our stomachs some weight. "haah.. I'm so full! I need to resume my diet later on." Sakura sighed. "You said it, Sakura. My top feels abit tight now." Ino added, worried and looking down at her own tummy. I chuckled. "Aww, c'mon! It was just one big meal of delicious kinds of ramen dishes! You girls will return to your normal fits as always." Dad said. "Besides, this is for the hardships we've been through. We won't be eating this much again in the future." I proclaimed. They smiled and nodded. Dad took out his wallet and paid the bill. "This is my treat for my daughter and friends." I thanked him with a smack on the cheek.

Back to work.. Lady Tsunade assigned me to do a B-rank mission. The order was to deliver three mails to three different villages. Shizune-san informed that I wouldn't be travelling alone. "Do you know Rock Lee?" she asked. I thought for a moment. Rock Lee.. They say he is called The Konoha's Green Beast. He was familiar. However, we weren't very close. Ino told me a few things about him, she mentioned he had a huge crush on Sakura. Others said he is strong. In fact, I think I see him quite some times. "Yes, but I have not met him yet personally." I replied while I read the order. "Well then, this is your chance to meet him. He is your partner for today's mission." I was thrilled, I'm used to going out on missions with many different people. As usual, meeting someone new like Mr. Rock Lee was yet exciting. Unlike my mother, I wasn't very popular with people in town. More likely a silent type and humble keeping my cool hidden. Discovery is up to the eyes of ones who are interested. Only a few persons know my face, barely know my name either. I asked if there was a need for meeting with the Hokage for more information about the mission. "Unfortunately, Tsunade-sama is going to have an urgent meeting in 5mins. And she asked me in charge on taking care of things with her incoming visitors. It is best to read that file since all the info. you need to know is right there. Take Sakura with you, you might need her for back up. Look for Lee-san and discuss what you three have to do." Her instructions were clear and specific. I assured her that the order will be done in no time. After the dismissal, I bowed to her respectfully and left the mansion.

Sakura was not pleased as soon as I told her that this guy name Rock Lee was coming along with us. This itchy curiousity brought me to a conversation with her about it while we were walking, almost running, to search for him. She always liked Sasuke, or may be she already loved him. But knowing that there is someone else who is into her, I even asked this one silly question: "How come you never gave him a chance? It's better than waiting for SASUKE." "Stop asking, Ashya! I'm telling you, Lee is annoying!" she cried with a slight furious face. I laughed silently, seeing her like that made me curiouser. "Sakura-san!" a male voice called behind us. We turned our backs, looking at a young man wearing green suit with the jounin vest and was waving excitedly at Sakura. No doubt, it was 'him'. "So you must be Rock Lee! WE, have been looking all over for you." I exclaimed. He looked confused. Ofcourse, he didn't know me. I kept talking before any of them would say anything. It started off with a decent introduction. "Hi! I'm Ashya Nightwayne." I bowed in a ladylike gesture. "Nice to meet you, Ashya-san!" He bowed back with firm confidence. "It seems you know my name, and me as well!" he striked a pose by giving a thumb up with a smirk that twinkled. I find it cute. I squinted, turned my eyes to Sakura, saying these words loud enough for the both of them to hear: "My, isn't that charming! A man with that right confidence is indeed lucky to a gal like Sakura." Sakura was embarrassed, she bursted out a big sigh and laid her head on her own palm. As for Lee, he was flattered, I can tell. His cheeks turned pinkish to almost reddish, his chuckles turned to giggles. Sakura gave me that Im-gonna-kill-you-for-this look. Teasing them is so much fun, I thought. "I think I'm going to back out this mission.." she grumbled. Lee did not hear what she said, so he asked her to repeat. But then I interrupted, "Oh yeah! She said we are going on a mission together. That includes you, Lee!" He jumped happily in multiple times. "Iiyosh!! Been waiting for this. I'm gonna show you my best skills I practiced the whole week!" he exclaimed with fire in the eyes. He must be burnin up out of passion. Ofcourse, for Sakura. "Whoa! I can't wait to see that." I said almost in a sarcastic way.
