"Get up, you lazy lump!" Spyke meowed, prodding forcefully at Spice.
"He's probably tired from yesterday," Caustic said as he neatly laid his tail on his paws.
Spyke rolled his eyes and continued to poke at his brother. Dappled light filtered into the cave, making the crystals glitter. Spyke snorted and gave up, walking away.
"Yet I'm awake." Pinstripe hissed from the other side of the cave.
"Shut up, Pinstripe," Spyke spat, thrashing his tail once. "Nobody was talking to you."
"Stop arguing, it's not going to bring your mom back, is it?" Cinder hissed.
"Cinder, don't say that." Caustic meowed.
Spyke had whipped around to face Cinder, his teeth bared and in a pre-pounce position. Caustic looked at Spyke, then Cinder, his eyes wide. Oliver butted his way in front of Spyke, shoving him back.
"C'mon, Cinder. Let's go hunting," Oliver suggested, laying his tail across the back of Cinder's neck and leading him out of the cave.
"It's like he doesn't even care that she died," Pinstripe mumbled.
"It's not like he cares about anything," Spyke shrugged, still scowling. Caustic looked at Spyke.
"He cares about some things, like-," Caustic paused. "Oliver?"
"Whatever," Spyke mumbled, padding somewhere else in the cave.
"He loves the cat with no personality," Pinstripe said. Spruce stretched his limbs and yawned, instantly heading out.
"I'm going hunting," he called over his shoulder.
"Alright, don't get into trouble!" Caustic meowed to his son.
Spice stalked through the snow, soaking up the sunshine. He looked around, sniffing the air for any scent of prey.
"Hi!" A voice called from above him.
Spice jumped and looked up, squinting. "Hello?"
Coral leaped off the rock she was standing on, sending the snow into the air as she landed. She steadied herself on the ground and shook the snow off her dark pelt.
"Oh, hi," Spice meowed as he padded up to her.
"You already said hi," Coral purred jokingly.
The brown cat scuffled his paws on the ground, stirring up snow. "Sorry."
Coral gave him an inelegant-questioning look.
"Anyways, I caught a mouse!" She exclaimed, clumsily picking up a small, slender mouse. "It's the first one I've ever got."
"Good job!" Spice complimented her, flicking her ear with his tail.
Coral stared at Spice with an odd expression on her face. "What is that?" She questioned, gazing at his back.
"What? It's fur," he responded, snorting.
"It looks like the wings of a bird," She said, striding closer to him. "Oh. It's some kind of deformation I have, or whatever," Spice told her.
"Can you move it?" Coral questioned. Coral glanced at Spice's face and looked away quickly. "Never mind that, are you the only cat that lives around here?" She said, changing the topic.
"No. I live some ways away with my family and my dad's friends." Coral stood there, staring at Spice awkwardly.
"I gotta go," Coral meowed bluntly, quickly whipping around and leaving.
