"Bye mum, dad and Lucy!" I said hugging each individually.
"Bye Jemima, now be careful understood?" my dad warned.
"Understood dad" I said.
"Awww my baby girl is moving away" my mum cooed.
"Yes mum, please your embarrassing me" i let out a sigh.
"Bye bye Jem, safe trip" Lucy said hugging me.
"Will do Hun, will do" I replied.
'Flight 287 boarding now please make your way over to the designated gate' a lady said over a loud speaker.
"Well guys thats me, I guess it's bye!" I said waving and walking off.
My nerves are starting to wander through-out my body because 1, I've never been on a plane before and 2, some creepy ass guy might be sitting next to me. This is going to be one hell of a long trip.
Sighing I boarded the plane and did all that shit you have to do(mind you I don't know how it works so I'm just making it up).
After wandering around looking for my seat I pushed my carry on bag onto the thing above me and slouched down into my seat. I just sat staring out the window when I got interrupted by someone tapping my shoulder.
Yes?" I asked not moving my gaze one bit.
"Is that seat taken?" A British voice asked.
"No your fine go ahead," I shrugged.
"Thanks. He said sitting next to me.
Slightly moving my gaze away from the window I looked at the young man who had seated next to me. Gosh, he took my breath away.
I heard a slight cough and jolted out of my trance. "I'm Joseph." He said sticking out his hand.
"Jemima, nice to meet you." I said shaking his offer.
"You too. Call me Joe for short" he shrugged.
after that there was a short awkward tension between us until we had to go through all the safety things. I felt the plane start moving and my body tensed up.
"Hey Jemima you ok?" Joe asked patting my back.
"Just, never flied before that's all" I gulped.
"Its ok just don't worry," he said rubbing circles into my back.
I let out a deep sigh and looked over to see Joe smiling.
"What you smiling at?" I asked nudging his shoulders.
"What, huh nothing." He said dramatically.
After that little weirdness we were aloud to take off our seat belts.
"Can you um, grab my bag please Joseph?" I asked.
"Sorry, yeah em sure." He said standing up. "Here you go,"
"Cheers," I thanked him.
The rest of the flight Joe and I got to know each other better. I was sad when I left the plane because I'd never be able to see him again. I walked over to the bag pick up and grabbed mine when I first saw it. Ding. My phone. I reached for my back pocket and read the message from Zoe.
Hey turn around,
I did as the message said and got tackled my a big hug.
"Zoeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" I squealed.
"Jeeeemmmmmmm!" She mocked back.
I rolled my eyes and Zoe said "how was the flight?"
"Pretty good actually seeing it's my first time flying. I met this guy and he was just perfect. Something about him made my heart flutter," I sighed happily.
"Someone here's got a little crush hey," she whispered in my ear.
I rolled my eyes again and stood there. "Can we go now?"
"No, we need to wait." Zoe said.
Fine," I grunted and slid to the floor.
After a few minutes I stood up and Zoe did too. The guy I met on the plane was coming towards us. A huge smile planted across his face.
"Broseph!" Zoe yelled hugging him.
"Um?" I coughed.
"hello," Joe said.
"I um, Zoe can I speak to you for a minute please, privately." I said getting quite anxious.
"Sure what's up?" She asked when we were out of sight.
"Zoe that's the guy from the plane. That guy Zoe, how do you know him?" I asked.
"He's my brother," she laughed.
I grabbed her by the shoulders gently and said "Zoe remember those things I said before about..." i hesitated at the end.
"Oh." Was all she said.
"Welp," I said face palming.
"Just try and hold in your feelings because you'll be living with him and in a few days time if I see him flirting with you I'll ask how he feels ok?" She asked.
I nodded in agreement and we high walked back over to Joe.
"Hello Joseph," I smirked.
"Hello Jemima," he mimicked.
"Nice talking again,"
"Yup" he said popping the p.
"Come come guys," Zoe said clapping her hands.
I grabbed my suit case but it go taken off me by Joe.
"I have arms you do realise." I pouted.
"Nope" he laughed.
"Fine..." I grunted. i ran ahead and caught up with Zoe. "Help me, how am I supposed to forget about my fucking feelings" I muttered hoping she wouldn't hear me.
"Just try for me," she smiled,
"For you." I said returning the smile.
