"I still can't thank you enough Zo" I gushed smiling in my mirror.
"As I said don't mention it," she laughed.
"Ok, what's the time?" I asked.
"7:57 so 3 more minutes!" She squealed.
"Did Joe say to dress fancy?" I said getting nervous.
"He defiantly did," she said patting my shoulder.
"Ok," I breathed trying to calm my nerves.
"I'll check if Joe is ready," she said walking out the door.
Ok Jemima, you can do this. It's just a little date right? Nothing's going to go wrong, we've been together for a week and this can't be horrible. Can it?
I got interrupted when Zoe came back in and squealed.
"He looks amazing, in a sister way of course" she said.
"Let's just hope this goes well," I said nervously laughing.
"Your nervous aren't you?" She said siting next to me on my bed.
"Maybe...." I trailed over.
"It's ok, it'll be perfect" she said comforting me.
"Ok let's hope, time?" I asked and she looked at her phone.
"7:59," she said clapping her hands. "It's okay just be yourself I guess"
"I'll try and thank you for the support and making me look like this" I said for the millionth time.
"Okay" she said and I heard a knock on my door.
"I think that's Joe" Zoe said pulling me to my feet.
I let out a shaky breath and opened the door to Joe standing there with white and red roses in his arms. He was wearing a black tux with a red tie.
"Wow," he said looking me up and down then stopped at my face. "You look wonderful it takes my breath away" then he handed me the roses and I put then on my dresser.
"Thank your lovely sister Zoe for that duty" I said nervously.
"Well, thanks Zo" he laughed.
"No problem" she said laughing.
"And again, you look wonderful" he said and I turned away and blushed.
He grabbed my chin with two fingers and made me face him.
"Could say the same thing to you," I gestured to his outfit.
"Now shall we go?" He asked.
"We shall" I said stepping out of my room and grabbing Joes hand.
"Bye Zo" Joe and I yelled simultaneously.
"Bye!" She called back.
we walked out of the door and got into Joes car.
"Where are we going?" I asked him.
"That's for me to know and you to find out" he smirked.
"Ok how long till we get there?" I asked the curiosity getting the better of me.
"A few minutes" he said starting to drive. "You look perfect you know that?"
"No I don't Joseph I look fat, ugly and I am worthless" I said looking out the window.
"Stop putting yourself down. It hurts me to know you don't see yourself as other people see you." He sighed. "Promise me you won't put yourself down like that again?"
"I promise" I said smiling.
There was silence for a few minutes, not the awkward silence but the one that was needed.
"We're here!" Joe cheers getting out of his car and opening my door.
"Why thank you,"I'm said grabbing his hand and getting out of the car.
The view around me was magical. We were at the beach and fairy lights were scattered everywhere. Candles were lit and placed in the sand. There was a table with our food on it and it was just breathtaking.
"Joseph did you d-do this?" I asked taking it in.
"Yes with the help of Zoe and Caspar" he said walking towards the table with me in tow.
"Who is this Caspar you speak of?" I asked taking a seat already knowing who all of his friends were because I watched them online.
"For starters he's a youtuber like me, likes pizza and is my up coming room mate" he said.
"Cool" I said. "This is magical"
"True now would you like some wine?" He said taking out a bottle.
"Please"
He started pouring mine then his.
"Cheers" I said raising my glass.
"Cheers" he dung them together.
"Now let's dig in" I said.
I had a pepperoni pizza infront of me.
"This looks amazing" I said picking up my knife and fork and having some. "And tastes amazing"
"Very correct" he said taking a bite of his own.
I drank some wine and accidentally took a breath and started having a coughing fit.
"I'll be a minute" I said standing up and walking away.
"I'll be waiting" he called as he watched me walking away.
Great. Almost was sick infront of my date. This could never get better would it? I'm just an embarrassment and he can't see it, or he does and wants to humiliate me. My life is an absolute mess.
I started letting the thoughts get to me and let a few stray tears role down my cheeks. I took a deep breath and stopped coughing and started walking back to the table. Joe had his head in his hands and was in a weird position. I walked up to him and noticed tears were rolling down his cheeks along with mine.
"Joseph?" I croaked leaving the tears.
He looked up at me and a glint of happiness shimmered in his eyes.
"Why were you crying?" I asked.
"I thought you were just one of those girls who goes on a first date and leaves within minutes. I cried, so basically because of you, I thought you were gone" he said wiping away the tears and sitting upright.
"No sorry I didn't leave you I was choking and I needed to calm down." I said sitting next to him on the sand holding his hand.
"Now why were you crying?" He said wiping away some of my tears trying not to smudge my makeup.
"I thought you were just one of those boys who thought I was an embarrassment. I thought while I was gone you were going to leave. I thought you were going to humiliate me infront of everyone" I said dabbing at my eyes and fixing my makeup as best as I could.
"Well I can tell you I'm not one of those boys" he said smiling.
"And I can tell you I'm not one of those girls" I said leaning in.
He did the same and I closed my eyes and crashed my lips onto his. He immediately kissed back and slowly started to deepen it. We both pulled away to catch out breath and I rested my forehead on his and stared into his coral blue eyes.
"I love you" I said out of no where, shocked waiting for an answer.
"I love you too and I will until I die" he smiled and I kissed him again.
"Well I'm full" I laughed as I pulled away.
"Same here but I'll grab a box and we can put the left overs in there" he said standing up and reaching his hands up pulling me off of the sand. He put our stuff in there and we headed home. Once we arrived all the lights were switched off so I thought Zoe would be asleep. Joe had the biggest smile on his face.
"Why are you smiling?" I asked grabbing his hand.
"I'm just happy I have you" he said and we started walking towards the door.
He urged the knob and opened it and I heard some shuffling.
I reached for the light switch and I turned it on only to get bombarded by SURPRISES. I saw Zoe jump out from behind the lounge and all of her YouTube friends popping out of different places. I have never met them before so I need to act cool and like I don't watch their videos.
"What's this?" I asked in shock.
"Joe threw it because he wants to do something" she winked.
"Okay..."I'm said looking around.
People started moving up to me and introducing me to them.
"Hello I'm Jim Chapman" he said putting his hand out to shake mine but I shook my head.
"A friend of Joseph's and Zoe's is a friend of mine" I said pulling him into a hug.
he hugged back then pulled away letting other people come.
"Hi, Tanya Burr" she said hugging me.
"Jemima Cook" I said hugging her back.
"Nice meeting you" I said as she walked away.
The rest of the night was people coming up and talking to me and Joe. I kept ahold of Joes hand the whole time but I let go if I was getting a hug or something.
"Ok guys please come into the living room!" Joe yelled through the house, I was really confused but people came in with smiles.
"Um Joseph?" I whispered in his ear.
"You'll find out on a sec" he said whispering back.
"Now most of you know this but if you don't here we go." Joe said then took a breath and continued, "Jemima I know I've met you like a week ago but would you do the honours of being my girlfriend?" Joe said facing me.
"I'd love to" I said hugging him.
"I love you" he said pulling away from the hug.
"I love you too Joseph. For ever and always" I smiled.
"Forever and always" he smiled at me. "Forever and always will be us"
"Forever and always" I said kissing him.
Around us there were claps and the Zoe shouted.
"Keep it Pg guys!"
I pulled away and blushed turning my head towards the ground.
