Unlikely Love Story (Ratchet X Wheeljack TFP Fanfiction)

Love?

Two years later...

We lost the last chance to go home about six months ago, but Knockout has officially joined us on Team Prime and from what I've noticed, that's seemed to light a fire or something in his Spark and it shows in his Optics.

"Hey Optimus, can I talk to you for a second?!" I asked, blushing.

"What do you want to talk about Old Friend?" He asked when we were alone and away from prying eyes.

"I'm just curious about your relationship with Knockout! I've seen you two sneak off together lately and with the way you both look at each other with what I assume is passion in your eyes and was wondering what's going on with you! Are you guys in love, and when did you know if that is what it is?" I said.

"Well, we are in love, but it was a slow burn for us to realize that's what it was, and in all honesty, we've actually been Spark Bonded for about an Earth year now!" He said.

"You have been Spark Bonded to a Mech who was a Decepticon up until about six months ago?" I asked.

"Yeah, but the Spark wants what it wants and mine wanted Knockout! He did at least want it too, and this near two year relationship has been perfect!" He said.

"You two have been a couple this whole time?" I asked, completely taken aback.

"I know Ratchet, but I've at least had the courage to tell the Mech I fell for I was in love with him, unlike you!" He teased.

"I'm not in love with anyone Optimus!" I said defensively.

"Oh Yes you are Ratchet!" He said with a knowing smirk on his lips.

"And who might they be?" I asked, panic set in my Spark.

"Oh, just our resident grounded Wrecker, Wheeljack!" He said with a chuckle and a smile.

"Even if that was true, he'd never fall for a lonely old Medic like me!" I said.

"Ok, first of all, it is true you pine for the Wrecker, and secondly, I thought something similar about me and Knockout before I finally told him about my love for him and learned that he felt the same way about me!" He said, resting a hand on my shoulder.

"So, you think I should tell him?" I asked.

"Yes you should Ratchet, he deserves to know!" He said, smiling again.

'Ok, I'm ready to tell him as soon as I can get him alone!' I thought, rounding the corner of a building on base with Optimus in front of me. As soon as I saw Wheeljack though, I completely froze because he and Ultra Magnus were kissing and from what I could read their body language, Wheeljack was enjoying it.

Turning around immediately, I drove far enough away from base to summon a personal ground bridge to a random place across the world. When I arrived, I transformed back into my robot form and sat on the cliff edge, my feet dangling of the edge. I was contemplating throwing myself off since the team had a Medic at the ready when wasn't there when a second bridge opened behind me and I was grabbing and shoved through the swirling bridge.

I was jerked out of recharge with a pounding processor ache. I tried to get up, but my ankles were torn apart and hurt like hell.

"Hello Old Friend!" A voice said through the darkness.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Really Pinstripe? You don't recognize your own best friend!?" The voice said, the owner soon coming into view of a dim light.
