The Aftermath

       "ZENNNIIITSUUU!" I heard a familiar voice scream. 

       That sounded like Tanjiro. Shit. I can't let him see me like this. He's gonna freak out! How'd he even know? I know his sense of smell is great and all but the roof is three stories above me! Ahhhhh what am I going to do?  

       ...Alright, Zenitsu stay calm. Although I hate making people worry about me Tanjiro is my best friend. And there's no denying that I got beat up...I mean look at me. All the marks are still visible and I'm limping. Also, there's no way I could lie to Tanjiro. He can tell when someone lies due to his freakishly strong sense of smell. All I need to do is-

       "Zeni-tsu..."

      Tanjiro's POV

      "Zenitsu-, "I said, staring at him blankly. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It's only the first day of school. "What happened to you?! Who did this? Why are you hurt so badly? Why did this happen?" I couldn't help bombarding him with questions. I just wanted to find out who could do such a thing. 

       "Tanjiro please calm down. I'm okay...really! I just got into a scuffle. I promise I'm-, " "Bullshit Zenitsu," I said cutting him off. "This is much more than just a scuffle. You're practically limping and I could smell blood on the way down here!" "I-I Tanjiro...Yeah, I got beat up..." Zenitsu answered reluctantly. "Who was it," I asked him. "...J-Justin..." 

       That prick. Always causing trouble for Zenitsu. The guy really gets under my skin. When I see him I'm going to make sure he can't walk anymore.

      ...I look back to Zenitsu who looked as white as a ghost. At first, I was confused but then I remembered his hearing. I recalled the time he told me how people usually sound when they're mad. There's this out-of-tune pitch that's loud. He also described how someone sounds when they feel animosity. He said it sounded as if 1000 nails were scratching on a chalkboard at once.

       "Sorry, Zenitsu. I forgot about your sensitive hearing," I stated. "Listen I'm going to get Aoi and my sister to help nurse you. I want to go find him." 

       "That's fine Tanjiro but there's a school nurse for a reason. I can just go see her," Zenitsu spoke up. "Yeah, but do you want to be sent home early? And Tomioka is gonna be mad that you got into a fight on the first day. Plus you'll get suspended for 3 days for fighting," I countered back.  "Really it's fine...I don't want to be a bother to Aoi. I-" "Zenitsu, Aoi won't be too bothered. Plus she wants to be a nurse when she's older and it could be good practice for her. I think she'll be fine with it," I said cutting him off.

       ...After a bit of back and forth, I was finally able to convince him to see Aoi instead of the school nurse. I know it sounds stupid but I have a good reason for me not wanting him to go. You see the school nurse is great friends with Justin's mom. If Zenitsu goes there she'll question him about what happened. And if she finds out then she'll tell Justin's mom. Justin's mom will be mad- see where this is going? It'll be more of a shit show if Zenitsu goes to the nurse. Although I highly doubt Aoi will be able to do anything intill we get to the Butterfly Estate, it'll be much easier on Zenitsu than going to the nurse. 

       Now...time to find Justin and chat with him a little.
