"Dear Diary, Entry 17 of 199X
After my escape, my parents reinforced the security. That didn't stop me though"
Light shined on her white hair, causing it to reflect back. It almost looked translucent. Her hair was in a long braid and cascading messily as she walked on the snow covered dirt. Some would even consider her a creepy old woman walking on a desolate, uncharted path.
This time, the area was much nearer to her family estate than that long trek she did yesterday.
She brought a blanket with her and a few snacks she took from the kitchen.
A picnic.
She always wondered how it would feel, eating whilst looking at a simple, yet beautiful scenery. (Deep down she knew it wouldn't be satisfactory.) She often fantasized about it. Like in those fairy tales where the main character would eat on the refreshing grass with animals in tow.
Honestly, she wasn't too sure about the animal part. The last time she interacted with one was when she tried to feed a pigeon but only ending up getting bit by the flying rat.
She sighed. If only she wasn't lonely.
Honestly, she could've asked anyone from her home and they would agree to her command. But all she wanted was a simple day. A kind of day where she wouldn't be pestered by the overly suffocating care of others.
Then again, maybe that's why they keep talking about her behind her back. How sad and friendless she was that she needed to ask the Rossburg employees for company.
She clenched her jean dress she wore atop a simple blue stripped long-sleeved. Her self pity engulfing her mind. It made her disassociated. Disassociated enough that she couldn't see a foot on her way, causing her to step on it.
A sharp inhale caught her attention.
She turned her eyes to her right where a seemingly suspicious man backing away. He seemed to hop on the stepped on foot in pain. [Name] irked at this.
She wasn't heavy at all! In fact she was malnourished! What a pussy!
Nontheless, she apologized with her eyes averted and cold thumbs pressing against each other. Before she could turn around and walk away, he asked her in a shaky voice at first. "What- what you doin' here on the cold afternoon sweets?" He now was playing it suave, leaning against the tall dark pine tree.
"Nothing to arouse your suspicion." She deadpanned and tried to walk away. Her stomach growling at her to just put down the blanket and eat right then and there. She let out a sound akin to a deflating balloon and tried looking behind the man. "Do you know a few places near here with nice scenery?" She dreaded asking the stranger with the suspicious looking face. But she had to.
"Hmm. I think there was an old campground around here or something." He looked at his right and did a sharp intake of air.
"Well then, follow me!" He said with the fakest smile in the existence of smiles. "No thanks. I'm not planning on going there right now. Can you please tell me the way? " [Name] hunched over in panic over the stranger's eyes that suddenly interlocked with her's. 'God, that was so embarrassing!!!'
"Uh. I'm not sure of the way. I'm lost too." [Name] sucked her toungue. "Well, I guess we can find that place together... Where were you going anyway, stranger?" She pressed her lips together and started walking away. The man quickly followed her pace and scratched his neck. "Oh, my friends were actually making a film for ther' classes'n such. I was one of the leads. I couldn't find the filming spot. The name's Tim, by the way." Tim shined her an award winning smile.
Contrary to popular belief, [Name] wasn't that dumb. She felt early on the stare she was receiving from an unknown force. It made the hairs on her skin rise up and warn her like some static.
If the stalker was indeed 'Tim' She finds comfort in him not being behind her, rather, slightly in front of her.
She gulped down the saliva that was pooling around her tongue and forced herself to smile at his attempts at conversation. Her hands that almost felt way too cold for a person now in a clenched position.
[Name] wasn't dumb enough to let her potential stalker get an upper hand, but [Name] was naive enough to believe he was the only one around the vicinity.
This is set in the 1990s, as seen in the diary entries. Unless said so, this is set still on the 1990s.
Hitchhiking was very common in those times, so I have no doubts that a naive, sheltered, just 15% above the average intelligence, and adventurous girl like [Name] would find it strange or alarming, but ignore it due to fear of being wrong.
MC, at first wanted to deny him, but what he said made her backtrack. How did he know she was lost? She doesn't remember telling him that.
MC's intelligence is slightly stunted due to a bit of trauma and her schooling being on and off.
MC's trauma isn't that bad compared to others, but how she feels about it is something else.
