There exist two categories of gods: factual ones, and ones of religion and folklore. There have been many wars anchored on the distinction between these two, so here is an example of a real god and a religious god.
Factual:
Lady Death: Not much is known about this goddess, coming in a wide range of appearances in her depictions over the years, only a few key features staying between depictions: her height, gargantuan in size, is the most notable of these.
She wears two main sets of clothes when she appears: a black dress with a matching sun-hat, a sheer fabric almost resembling the night sky, and a flowy purple-pink dress with a trio of feathers set above her ears. It is said that whoever she appears to in the first will die shortly, and people she appears to in the second have had someone important to them die recently. She holds a large hourglass, showing the time left for every person who sees it.
Religious:
Arnlum: The central god of Arnism, he is said to have created Lorln. Surrounded by a shroud of mystery, little is known about him apart from what is said in the Book of Arnism. A full version of this story exists within it, but it spans hundreds of pages and would be much too long to be written here. It is said he created Peculier and placed it within everything, bringing life and love to an otherwise desolate landscape.
Few people can still make the difference between religious and real gods. Millions exist, with few characteristic keeping real separate from fake, between the claims of sightings of Arnlum and the depictions of Lady Death hundreds of years before any records of religion were estimated to have been created.
If you wish for a more in-depth look at these gods, look into Joel Beans's, also known as Smallishbeans, 'Guide To Gods'. It is a work of great value, one I've found is rather nice to read at night in the woods as you listen to the fire crackling and the crickets chirping.
However, I can provide one thing: the key to research on these gods.
Look at gods with full neutrality on whether or not they exist. I've found my research papers often drift to disdain at best and hate at worst when they are on the subject of some gods, specifically Arnlum, a fact I am most apologetic about. I am sad to report I am not able to be neutral on the subject due to personal issues that include a party, my husband, and a group of cultists.
