NOT So Innocent

THE CULPRIT

Detective D along with Robert pays a visit to The Night Escape Clubhouse. Reaching there, they met the manager and interrogated him and the staff. 

ROBERT - Did anybody notice any suspicious activity on the day when Amelia was killed?

The staff present there shook their head in disagreement.

DD - Is everybody present here? I mean any staff is missing?

MANAGER - Yes sir, since the murder was in the evening thus the staff present right now were at duty on that day but..

ROBERT - But?

MANAGER - A waiter, George is currently on leave

DD - Since?

MANAGER - Sir after that night we didn't see him. He informed us that he is unwell.

DD - Robert, collect George's contact and call him

Robert went with manager and dialled George's number which was switched off. Robert informs the Detective about the same.

ROBERT - Detective, this George is really questionable. Here is the address of his apartment

DD - Good job Robert

They moved out and came to the street. It was calm with less number of travellers. Detective notices a cctv just outside the medical shop which was opposite to the clubhouse. They walked into and asked for the footage if they could find some clue. They collected the recordings in a pendrive and went to George's apartment to visit him. They knocked at the door but their was no answers. Detective took out a master key from his pocket and opened the door. They investigated the place for a while but their were no signs of George. Detective found a envelope in the drawer which contained few currency and a picture of Amelia

DD - Hence it is proved that George was involved in Amelia's murder

ROBERT - But Detective were did George disappear?

DD - I have sent the agents George's number they will surely give us some clue

Just then there was a ring at Detective's phone and the agents informed him about George's last location. They drove to the location and after few searches they found George's dead body 

ROBERT - Now?

DD - I strongly believe that there is something we are missing out.. what about Amelia's landlady, Mrs Maida?

ROBERT - She is here sir, will be reaching the bureau in an hour

DD - Let us not keep her waiting and return back to office. Send the body to lab too

ROBERT - Sure Detective

They return back to their office and soon Mrs Maida arrives.

DD - Greetings Mrs Maida

MM - Hello sir, how can I help you?

DD - Can you give us some information about your tenant, Miss Amelia?

MM - Sir, she was someone who usually cared about herself and was not very interactive. We never talked about our personal lives, she paid a good rent to me, on time and was overall a good tenant you can say except for one thing

 DD - What is it?

MM - Amelia was involved in arguments with people around her. The neighbours used to complain about her late night parties and noises. Last week Mr Matthew and Amelia had a argument and Matthew complained this to me. Although it was useless but still I tried to convince Amelia to mend her ways, Seriously she had a rude and arrogant behaviour, who insults their friend in public?
