"I've found a reason for me, to change who I used to be. A reason to start over new, and the reason is you." - Hoobastank

"Hello?" I muttered to my phone, who the hell could be calling me at 7 in the morning? This must be good.
"Well if it isn't the early bird," I can hear the sarcasm evident in her voice, "You can thank me later."
I'm confused.
"Why would I thank you for waking me up so early with no particular reason?" I said groaning. I admit, I am not the most happiest person in the morning. Though, Crystal was the complete opposite.
"It's the first day of Senior High!"
What the actual fuck. How can I forget?
I scrambled out of bed and grabbed my towel. I plugged my iPod and chose my favorite playlist, I Miss You by Blink-182 started blasting through the speakers.
Hello there, the angel from my nightmare,
the shadow in the background of the morgue.
The unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley.
We can live like Jack and Sally if we want.
I stepped inside the shower and as the music played, memories started flashing in my mind. I do this often, just reminiscing and thinking about what I should do with my life.
I went back to the day my circle of friends was formed, I was 7 when my cousin, Brandon moved in. Aunt Cassie and Uncle Mike was assigned to stay in the Philippines, which was across the world, in accordance to their work. Aunt Cassie decided to let Brandon stay with us since it was for the better. Fortunately for her, my Mom agreed and since then, he lived here with us.
When I was a kid, I wasn't exactly what you call "socially inclined". I don't go out and play with other children. But when Brandon came, Mom basically forced me to go with him. He actually insists, I was going to grow up an introvert, he said. We were both 7 and I'm not sure how he learnt that word at a very young age.
After some time, and I meant a lot of arm pulling and exaggerated reasons why I should go out both by Mom and Brandon, I finally gave in. I remember how I pulled my hair out of exasperation, I was a pretty dramatic kid back then.
"You're going to-"
"Fine! I'll go out with Brandon! Ugh!"
"Finally, now that wasn't hard is it?" Mom smiled. Why is she so happy? Aren't parents obligated to keep their children at home and not the other way around?
"Let's go Scarlet!" Brandon pulled me by my forearm and soon enough, we were running to the park. He met up with four of his friends who I recognize from school, but I don't know who they are. Just this boy named Dylan, he likes to talk to the girls in my class.
"Hi guys," He greeted them cheerfully,
"I never wanted to be here," I muttered looking down.
"Is she blind? Why isn't she looking at us?"
"No you dumb butt, maybe she's just shy."
"Skylar's right. I think this is the first time she went out, and since I moved in with her, I'll let her tag along with me everyday." Brandon explained then he tilted my chin up, "Scarlet I want you to meet my friends,"
