Suhyeok smiled as he watched his best friend sprint towards him. As soon as he reached him he tackled him into a big hug.

"Yah, you're suffocating me!" he laughed.
"That's okay since it's your 18th birthday!" Cheongsan exclaimed happily, although he did loosen his grip a little. Suhyeok laughed again and hugged his friend just as close, feeling happy all the way into his soul. Nothing was better than a happy Cheongsan, he thought.

"So, what presents have you got?" Cheongsan asked, leaning back so he could see Suhyeok's face but keeping his hands on Suhyeok's shoulders.
"Ah, nothing too exciting," Suhyeok shrugged, however Cheongsan saw the smirk twitching on his lips.
"Really? Not even a pair of socks?" he looked down at Suhyeok's feet and saw his naked ankles, as usual. Suhyeok scoffed and playfully hit his shoulder, causing Cheongsan to look up at him again with crinkled amused eyes.

"I got a car."
Cheongsan rolled his eyes.
"I wasn't asking you to lie, now seriously what did you get?"
"I'm not kidding! They got me a car!"
Cheongsan's eyes widened.
"Seriously? That's awesome! Now we can finally go on all these adventures we've talked about!" he gushed. Suhyeok nodded, smiling wide.

The sudden cheers and voices of their other friends made them jump away from each other slightly. Cheongsan turned around and saw their whole friend group on their way over.

"Happy birthday Bare-su!"
"How does it feel to finally be 18, do you feel like an adult?" Wu-jin asked, smirk on his lips.
"Yes, it was like I woke up today with a new brain. Suddenly everywhere I looked I saw kids playing around, and you all feel very childish now," Suhyeok answered with his head held high and a fake displeased expression. Dae-su hit his arm, snickering.
"Yah, I'm 18 too you know." They all laughed together before the bell rang and they had to hurry away to class.

During class Suhyeok sat next to Cheongsan. Cheongsan poked his side, wanting his attention.
"My mom wants you to come by our house and celebrate with chicken after school," he whispered. Suhyeok smiled, Cheongsan's mother was too sweet. She had always welcomed Suhyeok into their home with open arms.
"I'd love that," he whispered back.

Ms. Park cleared her throat at the front and looked at them with raised eyebrows. They both quickly bowed their heads before turning back to their work.

As soon as the bell rang again, indicating that the day was over, Cheongsan bounced over to Suhyeok. He grabbed Suhyeok's bag before he even had the chance to do it himself, and slung it over his shoulder.
"The birthday boy shouldn't have to carry anything," he quickly declared. Suhyeok just shook his head and tried to get it back, but Cheongsan strutted away from him. He turned around a few feet away and smiled, gesturing for Suhyeok to follow.

Suhyeok quickly caught up to him and slung an arm around his shoulders, keeping him close. He truly loved to be around Cheongsan, just a few minutes with him could make his whole day less dull.

He was aware that he probably liked Cheongsan a little bit more than he should, and that used to scare him. However, as time went on he realised that he shouldn't worry too much about it and instead focus on how Cheongsan made him happier, even though they were nothing more than friends.

He sometimes caught himself being slightly too clingy and touchy with him, but Cheongsan really didn't seem to mind. Some days he even was the clingier one, and those days was the ones Suhyeok treasured the most. He figured Cheongsan simply thrived on skinship, and if he was the one he was most comfortable with he'd take that any day he could.

This day seemed to be a day when both of them wanted to be as close as possible. Cheongsan had slung his arm around Suhyeok's waist and they walked like that the whole way home to Cheongsan.
